From the chapel two separate studios have been created.
LA NICCHIA has been decorated in the typical Tuscan style with vaulted ceilings of old red brick, terracotta floor and bathroom done out in Italian marble. The apartment, which is situated on the ground floor, includes a spacious bathroom with shower and an open plan room of about 45 sq.metres.In this room three distinct areas have been created with two steps delineating the areas:a living area with sofa,a bedroom area with double bed and a fully equipped kitchen area. From the kitchen you go out onto a small loggia with a table and chairs which overlooks a pound. There is another door at the side of the building which takes you into the living area. The forniture is in keeping with the building, simple but comfortable at the same time.
LA CAPPELLINA is a delightful studio which has a ceiling with wooden beams and brick supported by two tie beams and a Tuscan terracotta floor. From a small balcony(with cast iron table and chairs)you go through an imposing door and a magnificent glass door with its original coloured panes into the apartment.Once inside you find yourself in a large bright room(50 sq.metres).Here two distinct areas have been created:a bedroom area with double bed and a living room with sofa bed(sleeps one or two). The kitchen area is slightly raised and fully equipped.A few steps and a hidden door lead you to the bathroom.
There is the possibility to have two separated bedrooms:actually we have another apartment in 30 mt. from the chapel(La Chiocciola);it has 2 bedrooms (on request I can add another),2 bathrooms,1 kitchen and one big sunny terrace. It is on the 2nd floor ;it has a detail:for the moment the access is with a spiral-staircase,but till now it wasn't a problem for our guests. Please contact the owner for prices or more information.
Italian lessons given on request.

The Tuscany / Pisa Province region

Tuscany is one of the most important tourist regions in Italy. Its towns are famous all over the world:Florence with its beautiful buildings, monuments, art -galleries,libraries and churches;Pisa with its Leaning Tower;Siena,an ancient Etruscan town with its medieval traditions.
Tuscan landscape is various;there are mountains(Appennino with Alpi Apuane,Where Michelangelo found the precious marble to create David and La Pietà),hills with their vineyards and olive-groves,the coast from Versilia(with wide sandy beach) to Argentario, where we can find many lovely places for swimming and for watersports .Off the coast there is the Arcipelago Toscano with its isles: Elba, Capraia, Giannutri, Giglio, Montecristo and Pianosa.
The Pisa area
Villa Margherita is situated in Fauglia,a little village of Pisa countryside(in 20 minutes by car from the city). It has an ideal location at the top of the village, with a view of the local hills and the Leaning Tower of Pisa. The ancient village of Fauglia has all amenities(banks, chemist, grocers',restaurant and other shops).
Ideally located for trips to Tuscan towns such as Pisa,Lucca,Florence,Volterra,SanGimignano,Siena and to seaside resorts. Those who like to be more physically active, can make excursions in the lovely surroundings of Fauglia on foot,by bike(avaiable on location)or on horseback.Water sports can be done at the beach reachable in a 20 minutes'drive, where there are also several tennis courts and 2 golf courses.( The Cosmopolitan Golf Tirrenia Pisa has 18 holes, and Golf club Tirrenia has 9 holes ).
The restaurants in Fauglia and near the village serve typical Tuscan dishes and wines of the vineyards of the surrounding area, the Chianti delle colline Pisane and white wine San Torpè.

We booked on very short notice for less than the recommended stay and were taken care of by Silvana very quickly and efficiently. We stayed here for two nights and had a lovely stay. Our girls are 5 years old and they were able to run and play on the wonderful property - they were especially delighted with the dogs, who were friendly and gentle. Silvana was very helpful and friendly, always there to assist if we needed and, even though we are hopeless with the Italian language, Nilo attempted to converse with us which we much appreciated! The converted chapel was our accomodation and our parents were in la Nicchia below and it was very convenient for dinner and for the kids to go back and forth. The recommended restaurant was good for lunch and we were able to drink our cappucinos on the patio in the sun all at a very reasonable price. Pisa was very near and we were happy to leave the busy city and come back to this quiet country place. The only thing missing for us was a toaster and a coffee maker but this may be a North American thing - we enjoyed this vacation very much and would recommend it to anyone!! Thank you! Response: I'm very happy you enjoyed your stay in our property:you all are so pleasant and friendly people and your young girls are very, very nice(my old dog missed them !!). I'm only sorry I forgot to put in the apartments the tosters and the American coffee machines:I have them, but I don't know why they were not in the studios. In case, next time ask me what you wish. Thank you very much for your great feedback, best regards ! |

My girlfriend and i stayed at la cappelina for a week and had a really good time. The appartment itself was unique in many ways. An old chapel with high ceilings and tainted windows with many authentic details. The owners are very friendly and extremely dedicated to the renovation of the old house. They were also very willing to show us around and give us good tips on the surrounding area. All in all a very good experience. |

-We certainly enjoyed our stay in Fauglia. Also, as I mentioned the tour you arranged at the winery and also the lunch we had there was wonderful. I would recommend it to your other guests. We really appreciated all the information you provided on things to do in the area. We used many of your maps and information and I hope put it back in the booklet okay. I left a few additional things we obtained. Again, thank you for everything . Ciao! Carolyn and James Barrett

-We both had a fantastic time, travelling around. It was especially nice to
be able to join in with the grape harvest at Nilo's fathers, and to be
invited to the meal that evening. We are looking forward to the opportunity to return again next year - in
time to taste some of the wine that we picked this year!
Katrin is continuing to practice her Italian, and I too have bought a book -
so when we return I will also be wanting lessons.Thank you again for your hospitality.

-I just wanted to email to say thank you for a wonderful week spent in "La Nicchia". My friend Alison and I had a lovely relaxing week in your beautiful apartment. Although we did not hire a car we found the public transport to be affordable, convenient and reliable. We had particularly pleasant day trips to Pisa, Florance and Lucca.
We wish you and your husband all the best for the future and wouldn't hesitate in recommending your accommodation to others.Kind regards,
Madelaine & Alison
-It was fantastic to wake up every morning with the beautiful and diversified songs of the birds who inhabit the trees of this magnificent property. The owners, Nilo & Silvana really succeeded the restoraration of this little chapel. It's so nice, clean, intimate and peaceful. It's good to seat at one of the many sundecks, just to rest or to drink a good glass of wine after a long day visiting museums villages, etc... Silvana is a really nice and discrete woman who kindly answers all your questions and helps you if you need it. Her abilities in both french and english is definetly helpful, and enjoyable. We really appreciated the time we passed in this “little paradise". Marlène S, Yves et Marie-Pierre P"
-Just to say thank you once again for letting us stay at your wonderful chapel in Fauglia. We had a fantastic time, especially, cycling around the country roads. Please let us know when your orangery is completed, we would love to come back. Thanks again,Vicky & Rachael
-Thank you for your hospitality during our stay in La Cappellina a few weeks ago. We really appreciated the warmth of your welcome and your helpfulness throughout our stay. We had a wonderful holiday, enjoying both the apartment and its location within easy reach of the big cities and the lovely beach at Cecina.
The holiday apartment keeps all of the features of the original chapel, right down to the altar!, and at the same time creates a warm and welcoming room with equipment and furnishings needed for a relaxing holiday. The wooded surroundings create plenty of shade, and we left having explored only a small portion of the grounds. Many thanks for a really memorable holiday.Kind regards Tracy & Brian Lowe -Thu 10/22/09
-During the past Sept./Oct.for one month we rented the apartment "La Chiocciola" situated in the main house belonging to Silvana and Nilo. The apartment is spacious, nicely decorated with authentic Italian furniture and well equipped for a month rental. As well there was a very large sunny terrace where we loved to eat most of our meals and generally relaxed. The property is very spacious and there is a feeling of tranquility.
Fauglia is lovely, quaint village and we were able to buy our daily grocery needs.
We did not have a car and were not able to bring our bicycles from home, but there were several bicycles at the villa that we could use. We explored the area around Fauglia in about a 40 km radius. It is a fantastic cycling area, even some of the hills to the villages! The countryside is great for walking as well. With cycling and walking we discovered so many interesting places.
Bus transportation from Fauglia to Pisa is very good and then trains can be taken to Lucca, Florence and places further away. If a car is needed, it can be rented at the Pisa Airport.
The MOST SPECIAL part of our month was our very amiable and kind hostess SILVANA. Her consideration of us and our needs was greatly appreciated.
A month is a great length of time to be in one place. It becomes home. In fact we would say after we had been out cycling, walking or out further afield, "let's go home and relax"! 30/10/2009 Vancouver, Canada
-Hello Silvana,I am writing to thank you for your hospitality during our stay at your apartment in Pisa. We really had a great visit to Italy and loved staying at your place. -"We stayed at la nicchia which is a lovely, spacious and comfortable studio apartment which is set in beautiful grounds near local amenities. More importantly are Silvana and Nilo who are lovely and truly helped us to see all parts of Tuscany including some beautiful vine yards!! We only stayed a week and are definitely looking forward to going back and have already recommended to friends and family for a lovely relaxing holiday. "Angus & Shadi 12/17/09 England
