The apartment has been built according to the typical Tuscan country style with stone, terracotta floors and wooden beam ceilings. Residence Il Monastero is in the small country of San Dalmazio (200 inhabitants). Its Medieval structure with alleys, tufa-made houses, a " Castellana" door and, a few step away, the archaelogic ruins (Rocca Sillana and Etruscan ruins) witness an ancient and glorious past.
You can choose the tranquillity of Monastero to recharge ones energy away from the humdrum with our swimming-pools, our olive-grove. Typical dinner is possible. Otherwise You can explore the country by walking, cycling, horse riding, or by visiting neighbouring small countries.
Residence Il Monastero is located within 1 hour motoring of Florence, San Gimignano, Siena sandy beaches and within 20 minutes motoring of Volterra.Residence Il Monastero has a big room to organize cerimonies.

The Tuscany region
Residence Il Monastero and San Dalmazio exude the true essence of that part of Tuscany as yet unspoilt and not so well known. Their ancient origin so evident in their very structure, with every stone and brick revealing a sequence of caring and sage adaptation through centuries. Equally around you is the visual beauty of generations of good farmland husbanding. This age long labour apparently harnessed solely so that you may indulge in a culinary feast. Olive oil, wine homemade pasta and vegetables aplenty. You can work this out, if you wish, by walking, cycling or horse riding along the meandering tracks and lanes often flanked by the characteristic and poetic cyprus trees, and always inviting you closer to nature.
Away from the commercial trappings of mass tourism, you will be rewarded by sudden and pleasant encounters with a wealth of medieval fortresses, churches and small hamlets which are dotted around the gentle hills and meet people enjoying and willing to share their slow pace of life.
