The Tuscany region
Located in central Italy, Tuscany is known for its rich history, art, beautiful landscapes, delicious food, and superb wines. We find Volterra right in the middle of the region, surrounded by well known cities like Florence, Pisa, Lucca, Siena plus hundreds of little medieval towns with beautiful old town centres in which no traffic is allowed! You can spend hours exploring Tuscany and it’s treasures and wind your way through narrow streets lined with many shops, cafes and restaurants. Stopping off at a few along the way!
Pisa / Volterra area
Idyllically set admist gently rolling hills and lush woodland, Cecina and Era Valleys capture the essence of Tuscany and is distinguished by its relaxed, gentle pace of life and warm welcome. Its cultural heritage and timeless atmosphere is majestically crowned by Volterra, a sanctuary of Etruscan, Roman, Medieval and Renaissance art and architecture. Scenic routes winding through an unspoiled, evocative landscape lead to castle, villas, Romanesque churches and Medieval villages. Ideally situated for visits to other hilltop towns and important Italian cities, only a shortdrive to the coast, this area is a perfect choice for a paceful and cultural holiday in the heart of Tuscany
