Sightsee the towns by horse and cart or hire a buggy or bicycle - Pisa and Lucca are especially good for this.Pisa 25 mins, Florence 40 mins away. Explore the historic towns of Volterra, Sienna, San Miniato, Lucca and San Gemignano. Palaia, the 15th century village nestled on a hillside is only 5 mins away. Once again we had a fabulous time in Borgo. We also visited the local dinosaur park, water park and had a wonderful afternoon in Florence. The pizzeria has reopened so we also enjoyed that as well as all the local restaurants. Hope to return again next year for the third time!

We spent a wonderful week at Borgo di Colleoli. The apartment is very comfortable, cool - in every sense - and well appointed, with a delightful balcony which we enjoyed sitting out on for breakfast (before the sun got too hot). The Borgo complex itself is well run and beautifully looked after. The fact that no cars are allowed in makes it a very peaceful and extremely relaxing place to stay, in spite of there being quite a few apartments as well as a small hotel.It never felt busy or crowded and there was always space to sunbathe by the pool or to relax in the shade. The location makes it a great starting point for visiting Sienna, Pisa, Lucca, Florence and San Gemignano - car hire is important unless you are happy to just relax and enjoy the atmosphere of Borgo. Very good pizzeria closeby where we had 2 excellent meals and other restaurants within walking distance which were superb. THOROUGHLY RECOMMENDED!

We have just returned from our Tuscan trip and I have to say that we had a wonderful time. The apartment is great, we had everything we needed. The Borgo itself is a beautiful place with a lot of space for kids to run and explore. We certainly hope to return sometime soon. Thanks again for all the useful advice about the area.
