Situated on a classical French courtyard in front of the Manoir, the building was once used as the groom's quarters in days gone by. Nowadays a spacious ground floor, double aspect lounge opens on to a kitchen and dining area. A double bedroom, leading off from the lounge, features a dressing area and en-suite shower room / w.c. Upstairs, the split level double bedroom has an en-suite shower room and w.c., while the two twin bedrooms share a separate shower room / w.c.
The property is tastefully finished and features many of the original wooden beams and stonework. Double doors from the lounge lead out to a terrace and barbecue area at the front of the cottage. Plenty of sun loungers ensure you can enjoy the long summer days, or a magnificent lime tree can offer you some shade from the mid-day sun.
The property comes equipped with all of your tableware and kitchen requirements, including dishwasher. Laundry facilities are provided close by.
Additional beds can be put in some properties for increased accommodation and twin or double combinations can be altered if required. Cots, high chairs and plenty of other baby bits are available if needed. Internet access, wifi and TV (for sports and significant events) are available from the bar, while some cottages have TV / DVDs and wifi. The garden is furnished with sun loungers, outside dining and a BBQ for the long summer days!
Please note that we have several different but equally charming four-bedroomed cottages on site, as well as a choice of smaller or larger properties.
Longeveau itself is a small hamlet in a beautiful valley designated by the Michelin Guide as 'A Place of Special Beauty'. Within the estate we offer a superb range of facilities to make your holiday as relaxed or enjoyable as you wish it to be. We offer the opportunity for families or groups to socialise with others, or simply appreciate the peace and quite of your own company!
Our 9 hole FFG golf course is a challenge to golfers of all abilities. We have three all-weather tennis courts, a sports barn with compact tennis, basketball etc., a table tennis barn and boules pitch. We have five swimming pools (two heated / three private) plus a children's splash pool and plenty of space to relax in or explore. Golf and tennis coaching is available from local English speaking PGA / CCA qualified professionals.
For our smaller guests we have a play area, a toddlers play area, a secret play house and a crèche that runs throughout the summer. Our restaurant serves great food and shares a terrace with the bar, with south facing views across the grounds and the valley.

About this location
The Poitou-Charentes region
The region is known for it's great climate with sun drenched summers, rolling green hills and valleys as far as you can see, plus all the history you could ever need. The food and drink is superb and the people are welcoming. The area is a paradise for wine lovers who may wish to visit the numerous chateaux and wine caves on the Bordeaux wine trail.
Longeveau is located on the Charente / Dordogne border in a beautiful valley in rural South West France. Nearby villages are full of activity, with places to visit, dine and drink. The picturesque old Roman town of Aubeterre, which was recently voted one of the prettiest villages in France, is only a bike ride away. Discover the 12th century subterranean church carved out of the rock or enjoy a drink on the village square with it's variety of shops, eateries and museums, all overlooked by a 1,000 year old chateau. Alternatively walk down to the river beach for a swim, relax or a bite to eat.
The market town of Riberac (20 mins) has one of the biggest markets in France! The capital towns of Angouleme and Perigueux (45 mins) offer a wider and more sophisticated range of shops in a typically French setting. Brantome, nicknamed the 'Venice of Perigord' is well worth a visit at a similar distance. Also within easy reach are towns such as St. Emilion, Bergerac, Cognac and Bordeaux, all famous for their wines and spirits and equally beautiful places to visit.
Local activities range from walking, sight seeing, tree climbing, canoeing, cycling, fishing, or even jet–skiing and quad biking to name but a few. Wine tasting and degustation are of course a staple part of the French experience! There are a variety of local festivals, fetes and firework displays that take place throughout the summer in the local villages and towns. These are aimed at all ages and generally take place between the months of June and September.
Children will find plenty to occupy themselves and their families with activities ranging from crazy golf, horse riding and tree top adventure's to daytrip's to the popular attractions of Aqualand Water Park, La Palmyre Zoo and Futuroscope. Longeveau is fortunate to have a number of very good restaurants in the area, ranging from cafés to fine dining. As with everything, our staff will be happy to recommend or help you with decisions.

"All of the rustic charm you hope for from a gite - with the golf, tennis & social side you have the ideal family holiday"
Our family enjoyed 11 summer holidays at Le Manoir de Longeveau, our kids never wanted to go anywhere else! I would hesitate to call the site a "complex" as it retains the genuine feel of times gone by, with all buildings designed and built in the Charente style, surrounded by fields of sunflowers and corn. The site now consists of over 20 gites of varying sizes, all appointed to a good standard.
La Loge is a large-sized gite with 4 rooms. On several occasions we shared the gite with extended family or friends. The interior is very traditional with stone walls, ceramic floors downstair and timber upstairs. There were en suite shower rooms in the 2 master bedrooms, with a further show room available upstairs. There was a large dining table indoors, but as the weather is mostly good in the summer, we were able to dine at the large outdoor dining table. The gite is not boutique standard, but is charming and comfortable.
The site is owned and managed by the Peacock family who are always friendly and obliging. There is always someone on hand to book a restaurant, or advise on day trips, travel and entertainment.
The surrounding area has many interesting villages and towns, with regular markets and countless restaurants almost always of a good standard.
On site the 9 hole golf course will keep the golfers entertained - don't expect St Andrews Old Course standards, but the course is great fun, and it is a refreshingly relaxed place to introduce novices to the game. There are also opportunities to benefit from golf and tennis coaching. Guests are encouraged to participate in the frequent stableford and medal comps, and social tennis events. Along with the tennis, the golf and club house provide an excellent opportunity to get know fellow holiday makers as well as local members.
The immediate site and surrounding area is exceptionally peaceful. One of the main benefits is the absence of traffic, and you gain a sense of safety which is particularly welcome when you have a young family.
I will forever cherish the memory of our holidays at Le Manoir de Longeveau.

"All the comforts of home combined with the charm of rural France"
La Loge is a charming property set in the grounds of the Manoir de Langeveau. The house was perfect for myself and a group of friends but would equally be ideal for a family, with a beautifully furnished open plan living area and well-equipped kitchen. The on-site facilities are first class - swimming pool, tennis courts and restaurant with a friendly family-run feel to the complex. Like many of the visitors to Longeveau, I return year after year - it always feels as if I am coming home!
