Craven Garth Yorkshire Holiday Cottages is the perfect place to relax and unwind.Corby Wood Holiday Cottage is snuggled between Boothferry and Valencourt. The large window is the original opening where the cart from the working horse was kept, which was reversed into the building. The other part of the cottage to the left of the window, is where “Corby Wood” lived in his stable, originally being a jumping pony from Ireland. When he came to England his name was “Skippy Blue”, but as there was already a pony registered in this name, he had to have his name changed to Corby Wood. However we just nicknamed him Skippy. In 1989, along with Boothferry and Valencourt, the building was converted to its present form as a holiday cottage.

The Yorkshire region
The North York Moors is a great place to 'get away from it all'. In fact, tranquillity is one of the National Park's most appreciated qualities.
Our extensive, open, undeveloped spaces give a sense of remoteness, a chance to relax and to remember the important things in life.
And it's not just today, as we seek to escape from busy, stressful lives; people have been coming to the North York Moors seeking spiritual refreshment for centuries. The majestic abbeys and monasteries which grace the National Park show that people have long recognised the beauty of the area and the calm that it brings.
The open moorland will give you a sense of space. Away from the noise of traffic you can hear the moorland birds, the trickling water in a stream, the sounds of the natural world.
The coast gives you the roar of the sea, the wind in your hair, the sand between your toes.
There is a superb range of activities available here in the North York Moors which will help you have an active and fun-filled holiday.
You'll find everything from airborne activities to watersports; there are good birdwatching sites, great fishing opportunities, golf courses, cycle hire, horse riding and, for a rainy day, sports centres and swimming pools

Originally founded in 1158, the priory was inhabited by a small group of nuns who are credited with being the first people to farm sheep commercially in the region. Ideally placed in the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors, nestled in the Valley of Rosedale North Yorkshire these stunning and traditional Holiday Cottages offer the perfect place to relax and unwind.
