Rosecroft Cottage, Cropton is an idyllic central base to discover the beautiful North York Moors National Park and the Yorkshire Heritage Coast. Walks and cycle tracks lead to quaint little moorland villages and lovely scenery. Golfers can enjoy a round at Kirkbymoorside Golf Club and Anglers can fish at Ings Lane Pond, Kirkbymoorside, Pickering Trout Lake and Selley Bridge Lake at Low Marishes, near Malton.
A popular and memorable journey is the steam train trip from Pickering to Heartbeat's Goathland. The market towns of Pickering, Kirkbymoorside and Helmsley are nearby. Historic homes and the East Yorkshire coastline offer lovely day excursions from the cottage. Flamingo Land Theme Park & Zoo is about 10 miles away. There are shops 1½ miles away and the local pub takes around 7 minutes walking.
Parking is available for two cars, one in the car port. The street at Cropton has ample roadside parking for visitors.
We are dog owners ourselves and consider it their holiday too! We welcome a maximum of two dogs and request they are kept downstairs and not allowed on the furniture. The garden area is fenced in, but it is probable that a Jack Russell sized dog may escape. Around the house are sheep to the rear and hens are kept locally. (Free range eggs can be bought nearby at Woodmans Cottage).
