Our childrens policy:
We market ourselves as a 'quiet, peaceful retreat' and know it is not always easy for the kids (or on the parents!) to keep the peace, especially when we have a large garden ideal for football etc-
Our guests here are mainly adults who want to enjoy the quiet surroundings. This is why we set our minimum age at 8 yrs and ask that children are accompanied at all times whilst on the property.
We let all parents of young children know what we are about and if they are happy that our accommodation is suitable for them as a family, they are very welcome!
I hope that this explains our policy, it guarantees our guests who return time after time the 'chill out' they come here for..
Conditions
A deposit of £100 is required per cottage on booking, with the balance due 28 days before arrival.

The North York Moors National Park really is a very special place. The great variety of landscapes is what truly makes it unique and gives it a character which so many people can enjoy.
Whether it's moorland, forests, pretty towns and villages or stunning coastline that appeals, there is something for everyone. There are castles, abbeys and churchs for the historians, abundant wildlife for the naturalists, footpaths galore for the walkers and world class facilities for the cyclists at Dalby Forest.
And after a busy day exploring, we have a great choice of wonderful country inns, pubs and restaurants serving excellent food and wines... once experienced, you will definitely want to come back!
The Pickering / Stape area
We are a perfect base for those who want to explore the dramatic landscapes and picture postcard village of the North York Moors.
A 45 minute scenic drive will take you over the heather laden moors to the traditional fishing town of Whitby, into the historic City of York, or to the Baroque masterpiece, Castle Howard.
The North York Moors Steam Railway stops at Levisham station, a short walk or drive through the forest, and just one stop away is Goathland, probably better known as the Heartbeat TV series village of Aidensfield.
We provide our guests with a list of eating places, local information and things to do, please enquire if you would like us to send you this information.

We just wanted to let you all know our feelings on Cropton Forest Lodge Cottages. What a beautiful location and just perfect for walking and live nature. We saw deer, grouse, badgers and numerous birds in just a short period of time. The location was also good for travelling around Yorkshire. The cottage we stayed in showed that Ben and Sue the owners are driven by quality and pride. The workmanship portrayed is really top end stuff. Great Yorkshire value and quality. Thanks for a great stay! |

We really enjoyed our stay at Cropton Forest Lodge. The cottage was immaculate with everything we could possibly need for our stay. The bedroom and en suite were luxurious and the kitchen and living room were spacious yet cosy - especially with the log fire roaring away. The booking process was easy and communication from Ben and Sue was great. We were made to feel very welcome upon arrival - the fruit cake was especially lovely! The three nights we spent there flew by and it was hard to leave and get back to the reality of work, etc. We really cannot wait to visit again. Thank you for a lovely stay, Kate & Paul |

This was our second visit to Cropton Forest Lodge and was just as amazing as the first time. We wanted a winter break in a place where it really didn't matter if we got snowed in! We stayed in... more |
