The flat is situated in the ancient historic hamlet of Belmonte, on the outskirts of Pianello del Lario, overlooking Lake Como. It is perfect for one or two couples looking to enjoy a relaxing holiday in the stunning Italian Lakes. I fell in love with the flat when I first saw it and I think you will too, if you are looking for a truly stunning apartment in a beautiful area of amazing old-world elegance.
The flat is perfect for a great holiday in any season: from spingtime with the beauty of the wild flowers, through to the glorious summer sunshine as it shimmers on the lake, to the golden glow of the autumn leaves to spectacular views of the snow-capped mountains in the winter and skiing nearby.

The Lombardy / Lake Como Area
Lake Como is world famous for its charm, romance and gracious elegance. It is the deepest lake in Europe and the third largest in Italy. Lago di Como with its stunning backdrop of the pre-Alps attracts a sub-tropical climate which is perfect for growing exotic flowers, plants and trees in the many glorious gardens that adorn the lakeside.
Switerland is within easy reach and a visit to the gracious Lakeside town of Lugano is a must. The famous Ski Resort of St. Moritz is only one and a half hours drive from Pianello, and there is also skiing in the lovely Italian resort of Madesimo, which is approximately one hour and fifteen minutes drive away.
Milan is just an hour and a quarter drive, where you may wish to see the famous 'Last Supper' or shop in one of the worlds most famous centres of fashion!
Pianello del Lario area
Pianello del Lario is a lovely peaceful village surrounded by rolling countryside overlooking the Lake. It has a small beach with lots of water-sport attractions and great beach-side restaurants. It also has a Ferry Port with boat trips to many of the stunning Lakeside towns and villages. There are local shops in Pianello where there is also a small bakery for the morning hot bread rolls and pastries.
For larger shops, there are supermarkets at Dongo (4 Kms) and Mennaggio (10 Kms). The Apartment is 40 Km from the gracious, historic City of Como, and is in close proximity to the stunning towns and Menaggio and Tremezzo and the famous Via Carlotta, from where it is easy to hop onto a ferry to Belaggio, Varenna and Como.
There are many charming walks from Belmonte that wind up through the woods, past quaint dwellings to reveal the most spectacular expanse of mountain and lake views where the only sounds to be heard are the mountain springs and waterfalls and the tinkle of the bells on the goats.

Air One from London City Airport to Milan Linate Airport.
Hire Cars - Europecar booked through Easyjet website and Hertz booked through Ryanair. Alternatively, www.carrentals.co.uk or www.auto-europe.co.uk are very good and cheaper than the above.
