The Lombardy / Lake Como Area
In common with so much of Italy, Lake Como drips charm and romance - in ever increasing quantities since George Clooney purchased a few properties here. European writers, artists and composers 'discovered' the region in the 19th century and have been waxing lyrical ever since. Italians have always known about the lake however, as for centuries wealthy Milanese and Lombardians have escaped the pollution and the humidity of the cities on a Friday, for weekends spent sailing and sunbathing. Or simply breathing. The deepest lake in Europe and the third largest in Italy, Lago di Como attracts with its backdrop of the pre-Alps, its sub-tropical climate and the visual contrasts in colours and textures. In the middle of the lakes, around Tremezzo and Bellagio, olive trees and orange trees will have you wondering if you aren't, after all, in Tuscany. The Mediterranean fishing villages on the shores of the lake and the blazing sunshine will have you wondering whether this isn't Liguria.
The western shore of Lake Como The lower reaches of the western shore are the stuff of tourist brochures: wooded mountain slopes protect the lake from extremes of temperature and lush gardens abound. Many of the opulent villas that line the lakeside are still privately owned and on summer weekends the lakeside road is solid with day-trippers. The lake's only island, Isola Comacina, lies at the narrowest point of the lake, just before the waters open up to the warm climes of the nineteenth-century resorts of the Tremezzino. Menaggio, a little further north, makes a good base for trips into the mountains behind or across to Bellagio and Varenna. As you continue up the lake the shore turns rockier and less accessible until the lake spreads out into the marshes and flatter territory that accommodates campsites and windsurfers around Gravedona.
Pianello del Lario area
Pianello del Lario is a lovely peaceful village surrounded by rolling countryside overlooking Lake Como. It is 40 km from the town of Como on the north-west shore. It has a long-sandy-gravel beach with a small harbour. Pianello village has all you require for your daily shopping needs, for extensive shopping and " night life " Dongo (3km) or Menaggio (10km) offer more.
It is an ideal place for holidays or short stays and a great base for mountain hikes or excursions on the lake or to the nearby towns of Como, Lecco, Lugano, Sondrio, Chiavenna and St. Moritz.

Air One from London City Airport to Milan Linate airport.
Hire Cars - Europecar booked through EasyJet website & Hertz booked through Ryanair. Alternatively, www.carrentals.co.uk is very good and cheaper than the two above.

Cleaning Costs
There is a final cleaning cost of €70 when staying for one week & €90 when staying for two weeks with all bed-linen & towels included. If staying for two weeks or more – the bed-linen & towels will be refreshed after each week. All utility usage such as water, electricity & gas, are included in the rental price.

Payments by Credit/Debit Card & Wire Transfer
There are no additional charges for credit or debit card payments. However, all bank transfer fees are the responsibility of the sender. To make a confirmed booking, you will be asked to fill in our booking form online and pay a 30% deposit. The remaining balance will then be due 6 weeks before arrival.
