About the home

Villetta Roccolo is on an open space against the slopes of the mountain " Bregagno" at 350 m above sea level overlooking Lake Como and the surrounding mountains. The holiday house was recently completely reconstructed on the remains of a medieval "look-out-post" .It has a lovely terrace with lake view, portico for Outside dining and a big garden with lake view. This is a place for a quiet holiday, for those who like walking and hiking and the tracks start right at your doorstep. At 4 km - 10 min by car- or 30 min walking down hill is the village Pianello and lake Como for all your daily needs.

On the ground floor is the living room with fully equipped open kitchen, french windows opening up to the terraces and garden, on the first floor is a large bedroom (bed 1.4 x 2.00 m) and space for a cot , a second bedroom with large sofabed ( 1,45 x 2.05 m) , on the second floor a large "family" room ( 28 m2) with double bed ( 1.8x 2.0m) , a single bed ( 09 x 2m) and sofabed ( 1x2m) , one bathroom with bath and shower on the first floor and showerroom on the 2nd floor. The Lombardy / Lake Como Area region

Villetta Roccolo is on lake Como which is in Lombardy near the swiss border , north of Milan. Lake Como is 50 km long and is one of the most beautiful in Europe and is situated in a basin at the foot of the Alps and surrounded by lovely valleys. The shores of Lake Como alternate between picturesque villages leaning out on the water, gravel-sandy, grass or rocky small beaches, pleasure harbours and water sport areas for windsurfing, sailing and water skiing. Stroll along the Lake Como Greenway http://www.greenwaydellago.it and discover amazing landscapes.

Pianello del Lario is a charming little village on lake Como at 40 km from town Como on the north-west shore. It has a long-sandy-gravel beach with pleasure harbour. Pianello village has all you require for your daily shopping needs, for extensive shopping and " night life " you depend on Dongo ( 3 km) or Menaggio ( 10 km).

Menaggio is a lively little town with narrow streets, good shops, restaurants etc. The weekly market is a must. On higher grounds overlooking Menaggio and the lake is the oldest golfcourse of Italy . Bellagio ( Villa Melzi), Tremezzo( villa Carlotta) , Lugano ( 40 km) ,m Como-town 40 km, Milan 80 km. and wonderful mountains in the nearby swiss alps in St. Moritz ( 90 km).

Visit the beautiful villas (Villa Melzi in Bellagio, Villa Monastero in Varenna, Villa Balbianello in Bellagio, Villa Carlotta in Tremezzo) and the resort villages by boat and explore the hiking paths and the beautiful panoramic views over the surrounding landscape. A quick word to thank you for your efforts in organising a wonderful stay for us in the Villetta Roccolo. We had a great time, enjoyed the house very much, were wowed by the view and were incredibly lucky with the weather. Only problem was that we were very tired but that’s our problem! (a nasty cold + 2 babies...)
Other than that, superb views, nice and simple interior decoration, very warm and cozy feel all around! We’ll recommend it to our friends..

Wunderschön, toll eingerichtet, unglaublicher Ausblick. Gut gefallen hat uns auch, dass die Küche so super ausgestattet war. Der Weg zum Haus ist eine Herausforderung, aber auch spannend. Nach mehrmaligen Befahren der Strecke bekommt eine gewisse Routine.
Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen.
