Margon, a pretty hamlet nestling amongst vineyards, has a 13C château, shop, bar & 2 good restaurants. Roujan, 3 mins by car, has good variety of shops & UK newspapers. Pézenas (medieval quarter, open air market & supermarkets) 11 mins, Béziers 20 mins, sparkling Mediterranean 30 mins.

Dining lounge. The dining area with table, chairs and dresser has a large picture window looking onto the pool. The lounge area is comfortably furnished with sofas, armchairs, coffee table,WIFI, satellite TV and DVD. A patio door leads onto a partly covered patio. Ideal for outside dining. Garden furniture provided. Pool room accessed from well equipped kitchen. PLEASE NOTE pool is normally CLOSED from mid October to first week in March as reflected in MUCH REDUCED PRICE for this period.
All electric kitchen with breakfast bar, microwave, oven & hob, kettle, toaster, dishwasher and fridge freezer. The kitchen leads into pool room housing the 6 m pool heated to 30°C (Note: not deep enough for diving)
Utility room has iron, washing machine, etc. Cool box and melamine tableware provided for picnics. Double glazing and electric radiators providing year round comfort.

Situated on the outskirts of the small village of Margon; 11 minutes by car from Pézenas + 30 minutes from the sea. The bungalow is set in its own pretty walled garden, with trees and flowering shrubs, a 5 minutes walk to village square and 2 restaurants.

The Languedoc-Roussillon / Herault region
With an average of 310 sunny days a year the area is ideal for year round holidays.
Inland:
Canal du Midi, the hill fort of Ensérune, the famous walled town of Carcassonne, the strange rock formations of Mourèze, the vast lake of Salagou, the village and ancient monastery of St Guilhem Le Désert, the enchanting grotto of Clamouse and nearby Devil's Bridge, the impressive gorges d'Heric, the breathtaking panorama of the Cirque de Navacelles.
Just a few examples of this varied region.
Coastwise:
Lively Cap d'Agde with it's quayside restaurants and shops looking onto the yacht filled harbour. Along the coast Marseillan Plage then Mèze and Sète famous for the oyster beds and many seafood restaurants. 30 minutes from here sandy beaches and the sparkling Mediterranean await you.
The Pezenas / Margon area
Margon, has bread delivered daily from Pouzolles's bakery, 2 restaurants (one has a bar with WIFI) and a small open-air market every Monday morning.
Nearby Roujan has a variety of shops including bakers, butchers, spars & a Super U, Post Office, bank with cash machine, hairdressers, petrol stations, chemist, doctors, cafes, restaurants and newsagents supplying UK daily papers.
12 minutes by car, Pézenas (birthplace of Boby Lapointe, Molière's town) offers its medieval quarter, supermarkets, cafes, bars and restaurants and a large open-air market every Saturday.
From the property you can also visit Béziers which is 20 mins away, or the sparkling Mediterranean which is 30 mins away. Inland you can explore picturesque villages, hills, lakes & gorges. The area is ideal for walking, cycling, golf and of course wine tasting.

If you are looking for a perfectly placed, quality villa with a home from home feeling then look no further. Everything is designed for your comfort and is spotlessly clean. Beds with soft pillows and softer cotton sheets, large wardrobes full of hangers, large bathrooms with big showers and cuddly towels, comfortable seating and Sky TV to keep up with home news and, possibly, Coronation Street or East Enders show you that much thought has been given to make your holiday base one of the very best. Washer, dishwasher,and microwave you possibly expect but INDOOR heated pool,coolbox and ice pack and even your bottles taken to the bottle bank just add to your stay. Believe me, if you need it, it will be there. The area is known for good weather and the garden has both sunny and shaded areas. The quiet location is perfect. A 2 minute stroll to the village and its beautiful chateau, a 2 minute drive into Roujon for shops (we walked there often as its only a mile) and an easy 10 minute drive into Pezenas for supermarkets, touristy shops and 'history'. The hills and their many gorges are at most 30 minutes to the north and the med is 30 minutes to the south with abbeys and chateaux, lakes and picturesque villages inbetween. Go further afield to the Camargue or even have a day in Spain. Lots of information in the villa will get you there. The owners are the best kind - very welcoming, nothing too much trouble, always there when you need them but never intrusive. All in all one of our best holiday bases in 25 years of visiting France. I would certainly recommend the villa for anyone wanting to explore this wonderful area. |
