The Languedoc-Roussillon / Herault region
The Languedoc-Roussillon region boasts 300 days of sunshine a year.
It's spectacular coastline and mountains ensure that there are numerous places to visit and enjoy.
It is one of France’s largest wine producing regions and there are many opportunities to taste its excellent wines.
The lovely coastal towns of Sete and Meze are just a 25minute drive away where you can savour the locally caught fish and oysters.
The Roman towns of Avignon, Nimes and Arles are just over an hour's drive away to the east with the beautiful walled cite of Carcassonne just 50 mins away to the west.
The Pezenas area
Pezenas is proud of its associaion with the playwright Molière and during the summer months there are theatre performances of his works indoor and out. Also during the months of July and August all the local shops open until midnight on Wednesday and Friday when it seems the entire area decends on Pezenas, creating a great atmosphere.
Just across the street from the house is the historic area of Pezenas, with its labyrinth of cobbled streets, historic buildings, artist studios, bro cants and many cafes, bars and fantastic restaurants. Pezenas is alive with a flurry of festivals and a Saturday market in the Cours Jean Jaures, the wide boulevard in the centre of Pezenas selling everything from clothes to oysters, and often the time when many locals come out to socialize on a weekly basis.
