The main house is a traditional Perigordine style house, built in beautiful gold coloured stone with a slate roof. It has it's own pool set in a large private garden and all 6 bedrooms are en-suite.
The gites at Le Manoir des Granges are a carefully restored, set of traditional farm buildings, located adjacent to, but separate from, the Main House. The complex comprises of four units, three of which can accommodate two people, the fourth unit comfortably accommodates between four and six people.
During the process of renovating these beautiful buildings, dating from the 19th century, we made a conscious effort to retain all the natural Perigordian features such as ancient oak beams and local stone in order to offer accommodation with a great deal of individual character

The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Dordogne region
The land of a thousand chateaux, the Dordogne or Perigord as it was known,is split into four regions named for their natural features. Noir(black) region of dense forests, Vert(green) spruce trees, Pourpre(purple)vines and Blanc(white) natural limestone. Due to its natural beauty and abundance of medieval towns, chateau and villages, the perigord noir is the jewel in the crown of the Dordogne.
The Vezere Valley, with its predominance of prehistoric sites, makes this region one of the most visited. The medieval towns of Sarlat, Les Eyzies and the vibrant city of Perigueux and many traditional villages, each with a character of their own, including Domme, Rocamador, Beynac, Le Roque Gageac, Montignac with the famous Lascaux caves, St Leon sur Vezere, makes the region a real sight seeing experience.
The Peyzac Le Moustier area
The small village of Le Moustier derives its name from the prehistoric Mousterian era due to an important skull find there. It has a restaurant and boulangerie which is only 5 mins walk from the house and is situated between Montignac and Les Eyzies, site of the oldest prehistoric human remains.
The house is situated opposite Le Roque St Christophe, a site inhabited from prehistoric time until as late as the 16th century. This kilometer long cave carved into the rock thousands of years ago is lit up at night and makes a spectacular view from the house. Local activities include canoeing and kayaking on the Vezere with starting points at Le Moustier and at different stages along the river, horse riding, tennis, cycle hire. Golf, hot air ballooning, river cruises and more are all within 30 - 40 mins drive.
