The beautiful village of Peyriac de Mer is situated in Languedoc Roussillon area of the South of France in the magnificently rugged region of the Corbières.Light a nice fire and relax on our comfy sofa after a day out with a glass of wine or bottle of beer. Sit down to a meal with food from the markets, or just relax out of the sun for a while in our cool lounge/dining area. We have a TV and DVD player with a small selection of DVD's or Board games for you to use.

Catch the morning light with the long windows in this large comfy room with double bed and ensuite shower; all linen and towels are provided. As well as plenty of room for your clothes.

Great as a family room or for groups which can be used as one big room with 1 double and 1 single bed or with a dividing sliding door and separate entrances. Has en-suite shower and sink. As well as this there is another bathroom with toilet bath and shower in the first floor hall.
There are 2 single rooms on the 3rd floor making this a great area for kids to have their own space-or leaning adults to have theirs. The cute windows, sky lights and slanted roofs make these rooms very bright and fun place to stay in. One room contains two single beds, book/clothes shelves and bedside tables, the other has a large wardrobe with shelving and a single bed.
A beautiful area for outdoor eating with a little bbq.
There is also a small kitchen area on the landing with a sink, microwave and fridge.
You will find everything you need in our kitchen. We provide all cutlery, crockery, tea towels and cooking utensells. There is a dishwasher fridge/freezer, larder and even a few basic essentials like washing up liquid cooking oil and salt and pepper which we like guests to help them selves to. Any more essentials you may need can be bought from the small shops in the village.
Garage and downstair toilet/wash basin
An area to store your beach stuff. We have a tandem and 3 other adult mountain bikes you are welcome to use.
There is also a washing machine in this area.

Enjoy a cold drink in our lounging chairs or have a BBQ feast on our shaded roof terrace. There is a sink and fridge in the small kitchen area next just inside the sliding glass doors. It's as great spot to chill out after a great day or to enjoy a breakfast with a view.

The Languedoc-Roussillon region
The beautiful village of Peyriac de Mer is situated at the southern end of the Languedoc Roussillon area of the South of France in the magnificently rugged region of the Corbières. Over 3,000 sq. km of well-preserved nature, wild yet hospitable, with the Pyrenean mountains and the frontier with Spain to the south and the Mediterranean Sea to the east. In this beautiful part of France, where the sun shines more than 300 days a year.
Fantastic windsurfing can be enjoyed just 4 miles up the road at Bages, or Leucate (15 mins south bound) or Gruissan (30 mins N.E) or Narbonne Plage (due north of Narbonne by 5 miles) or Porte la Nouvelle(10 mins south bound).
Good sandy beaches on the Med are at Gruissan, Narbonne Plage & Porte la Nouvelle.
South of Perpignan is Collioure where there are amazingly spectacular coves, mountains that drop into the sea with gorgeous beaches.
Heading south west to the Pyrenees is just a short distance away and further afield, good skiing conditions are found at Font Romeu.
Spain, Provence or the Gorges du Tarn are all within an easy beautiful drive from Peyriac.
The beautiful ancient village of Peyriac de Mer is situated at the southern end of the Languedoc Roussillon area of the South of France in the magnificently rugged region of the Corbières. This rural little village is built around a traditional central square around where good local food can be found in the restaurant and alimentation (a short walk from our house). Tiny cobbled streets lead off in every direction awaiting exploration.

Every summer, usually in July, there is an exhibition 'The Art & Culture of the Herault' held in the village. Nearby villages and landscapes are frequently visited by artists attracted by the unspoilt abundant natural beauty.
Ornithology is abundant in the region- particularly in Peyriac de Mer where there is a large collection of wild flamingoes.
Fishing is also a practised sport and past-time in the lakes around the area. Villagers often sell locally caught fresh fish or even give it away if they can smell out a bbq.
Local pretty villages are within a cycle ride or walk away via the low mountains - all have restaurants and bakery/shops for essentials.
There is a huge zoo at Sigean (8km south) worth a visit. You can drive your car through it!
There is a sailing school at La Nautique (Narbonne) and also at Port Mahon, Sigean.
Leucate has some world class windsurfing and kitesurfing (about 15km south of the village) with beautiful clean sandy beaches.
There is a waterpark near by as well.
Being the largest production area of wine in France, there are numerous wine festivals going on all over the place most of the year!
