The Chateau de la Ruix is a magnificent 18th century residence, nestled in a beautiful private park. The owner Véronique invites you to enjoy discreet hospitality in this opulent residence lying in a park with a swimming pool and a listed orchard. Delicious home made jams await you! Véronique was born in and loved spending her family vacations in this grand 18th century Chateau de la Ruix. The best rooms are the five in the manor, all named after famous women. There are seven guest rooms in all, including a large room set on old stone floors in what was once the Orangerie. The Chateau de la Ruix can sleep 16 guests in its unique and comfortable rooms. The Chateau de la Ruix enjoys over 5 hectares of magnificent gardens which is covered with orchards, and is bordered by the river La Loire. A feeling of grandeur pervades this two-story building made of soft cream stone. The grounds have a wall surrounding it so you have absolute privacy and security. The swimming pool is fenced. Wander the grounds with the lovely old rose trees and famous orchards. Nearby, you will find tennis courts, golf, horseback riding, water sports, hiking, and many other leisure activities. For those with a helicopter you're welcome to land in the grounds! Although the décor is regal, Véronique has managed to achieve a comfortable, inviting ambiance. Let her chateau be yours for as long as you wish. Amazing rental, the Chateau de la Ruix is within a few mintes walk of the River Loire.

The Limousin / Auvergne / Haute-Vienne region
Collonges la Rouge is renowned as one of the most beautiful villages in France and is built entirely of red stone. Romanesque churches & turreted manor houses make this village well worth a visit. Nearby Turenne (11km away) is a charming city that is overlooked by an impressive chateau with views all over the surrounding countryside.
The regional park ‘Plateau de Millevaches’ contains a vast amount of hills, rivers & slopes making it a hiker’s paradise. Old villages line the edge of the park, where you take refuge after a long day’s walking.
Numerous rivers & lakes provide a whole range of water sports including sailing, canoeing, wind-surfing and water-skiing. Fishing enthusiasts will also enjoy the abundance of trout in the streams & brooks.
Limoges should be visited for its specialist enamel and porcelain and Aubusson for its tapestries.
The Regional Park of Auvergne Volcanoes has an astonishing amount of flora & fauna and 10 thermal spa areas within the ancient volcanoes.
Peyrat le Chateau area

FIRST FLOOR
The seven chateau bedrooms are served by a splendid staircase. Each room has its own style of decoration and atmosphere.
Pompadour Suite: (50m² Double and Twin). This cosy but spacious suite consists of two connecting bedrooms, a large bathroom and separate WC. It is ideal for a family with young children. Its furniture is antique and there is a TV.
Madame de Sévigné: (26m² Double). This spacious bedroom overlooks the rose garden. It has lovely bird print soft furnishings in warm rust and cream, family furniture and a television. The en suite bathroom is cleverly curtained off and has a nice gold painted roll top bath.
Georges Sand: (30m²). This large bedroom overlooks the swimming pool and garden. It has a fine bathroom, family furniture, and television.
Madame de Ségur: (23m² Double or twin by arrangement). This warm room overlooks the park and has antique furniture and a television. The room has an en suite bathroom and loo.
Cassandre: (Double or twin by arrangement). This large double fronted room has views over the Loire and also looks out onto an avenue of trees. Decorated in rich creams and beiges, its drapes and painted sky ceiling give it a sumptuous and theatrical air. Its en suite bathroom has a bath, shower and twin basins.
The Old Orangery: (Double or twin by arrangement). This large room was originally the chateau Orangery. Converted to a bedroom with bathroom and loo, it retains its original stone floor. It offers tranquility as well as space and looks over the swimming pool and gardens.
Further details outdoors: The chateau grounds are walled and extend to over five hectares. With the listed orchards, mature rose trees and the Loire meandering by, the grounds are a delightful and private place in which to walk or relax.
Conditions
Security deposit: £500. This is paid on arrival and will be refunded in full after departure subject to damage inspection. Linen & towels: All linen and towels are included in the rental price. Energy costs: Included in the rental price. End of stay cleaning: Included in the rental price. Arrival time: 4.00pm onwards. Departure time: 10.00am. Pets: Pets not allowed. Smoking: No smoking in the property. It is recommended that all guests take out insurance to cover against potential cancellation and any accidental damage caused during your stay at the property.
