The Paphos District
Paphos district is formed from many villages all along the west coast of Cyprus. A brand new international airport offering the latest technology in air travel and customer care welcomes guests from all over the world. With over 330 days a year of sunshine, the Paphos region is accessible all year round.
From archaeology to nightclubs, Paphos has it all! There is a holiday here for everyone, quiet and relaxing or having fun, dancingthe night away in the midst of the tourist scene. Take a drive out to the Akamas Peninsular, see the turtles at Lara Beach, visit the birthplace of Aphrodite, or maybe wine tasting at one of the local wineries is more up you street! With golf courses, horse riding, a super waterpark, gymnasiums and water sports, there is plenty going on for the sporty types amongst you.
Peyia / Peyia Village area
Peyia still holds onto its strong Cypriot values. The original village houses and meandering streets dominate the village centre, with the elders meeting for coffee and sat around discussing village life. Surrounding villages such as Tala, Kissonerga, Chlorakas and St George are all similar interesting places to visit. The local village shops seem to be always open in the village, the smell of fresh bread from the bakery and the meat cut to order at the local butchers, along with the abundance of fresh fruit and vegetables at the local supermarket compliments this wonderful way of life. Whilst the village is quite hilly, the views when walking downhill are breathtaking!! Inevitably a car is probably a 'must have, in Peyia. Leave the car behind and take 5 minute walk up to Savvas grill, and explore Cypriot cuisine or even join in with the Cypriot dancing on designated evenings. Dare you try the Meze and walk home after?
