Home description

Our Apartment is in the recently completed Peyia Valley mini resort about 1km from Peyia village centre. The accommodation is furnished and equipped to a very high standard as it is our 'home from home'. The covered balcony is through sliding patio doors, has a cafe table and four chairs. It faces the pool and the mountain views and is perfect for al fresco eating or just chilling out.

The Peyia Valley resort features excellent communal facilities: an outdoor Jacuzzi, large pool, bowling-green, squash court, multi purpose room, gym and sauna.

There are sun beds, beach beds, beach towels, a sun umbrella and squash racquets in the apartment. In addition there are lots of the utensils and equipment that we all take for granted in a home. There is a dedicated parking space for the apartment.

The Paphos District

Paphos - capital of the west and positively teeming with history, site of Cyprus’ second international airport. The resort town has as its focal point a charming fishing harbour by Paphos Fort, lined with open-air cafes and taverns that serve tempting menus.

Today it is a growing harbour town but in Hellenistic and Roman times it was the capital of Cyprus. Wherever you tread in Paphos you come across its glorious history which dates back thousands of years.

Peyia / Peyia Village area

The south-west corner of Cyprus has an atmosphere all of its own: soft breezes, old stone and an air of enchantment and antiquity. The village of Peyia clings to the rugged hills that act as a backdrop to Cyprus’ most photogenic stretch of coastline. Below glitter the crystal waters of the Mediterranean, while to the north the silhouetted peak of Ayios Yeoyios marks the beginning of the untouched Akamas Peninsula.

The scenery around Peyia is beautiful and there are plenty of good walks to be enjoyed. In the village streets it’s easy to come to the conclusion that Peyia is still sleeping. Locals like to claim that ‘in Peyia nothing happens in a hurry’ and it’s this soporific quality that gives Peyia much of its charm.

Peyia proves a welcome antidote to the bustle of Paphos which is a 15 minutes drive away, and is a great place to while away a relaxing lunchtime with a plateful of meze and a cold bottle of Keo beer. Peyia is close to all the tourist amenities, but not in the middle of them. If you prefer your days a little more active you’ll find a number of activities from go-carting to paragliding in the local area.

The blue flag beaches of Coral Bay are only a 5 minute drive. The airport is 45 minutes away so you are within easy reach of, but not too close to, all the facilities you need.

Swimming, snorkelling or diving in Coral Bay’s clear waters is good. The coastline to the north is peppered with small, sandy coves and Peyia is an ideal centre from which to explore this region of wild coastline, unspoilt hillside villages, forests, mountains and natural beauty; yet you are close to the amenities of Paphos and just over an hour from Limassol. We recommend a drive to Latchi on the north coast for a lazy lunch, or hire a boat for the day, take a BBQ and explore the coast of the northern Akamas. The motorway means that exploring Cyprus is hassle free.

Having slumbered through the day, Peyia wakes up at night. Taverna tables groaning under the weight of fresh fish fill the village square, the evening air cools and the village comes alive with the sounds of animated conversation. Suddenly it is very easy to see why Peyia is one of the best places on the island to spend your holiday.
