The Paphos District
Cyprus with its year round sunshine and extended holiday season is just four and a half hours flying time from the UK and other parts of Europe making it a firm favourite holiday destination.
Paphos is the most established tourist resort in southern Cyprus, the local landscape is beautiful with undulating hillsides and the famousTroodos mountains, and it has a good choice of blue flag beaches scattered all along the coastline.
The Paphos area is also well known for having the highest number of sites of historical interest the most famous of which are the Tombs of the Kings and the ancient mosaic floors and castle in Paphos Harbour.
The old part of Paphos Town is called Kato Paphos and it has a brand new promenade area along the sea front area, tourist shops, shopping malls and you are spoilt for choice when it comes to sea food, local and international restaurants. It also has a very quaint covered market set in the middle of old windy streets to browse around.

Peyia area
If you are looking for a taste of the real Cyprus, the charming village of Peyia has become popular with couples and families looking for a quieter village location within close proximity to the livelier areas of Coral Bay. Peyia is set on a gently sloping hillside overlooking Coral Bay, It is very traditional in look and feel with little winding streets and traditional stone houses with an old village church and shops at the centre.
Peyia offers visitors a good selection of amenities including banks, doctors, two supermarkets, a fantastic bakery, butchers, fishmongers, DVD shop and launderette. It also offers a good selection of traditional tavernas where you can try the local fish or meat meze, or you can try Chloes that offers themed food evenings throughout the week.
