This apartment has only been available since June 2009. It has been carefully furnished to the standards required for our OWN use. Riverside 2 is a brand new complex of the highest quality situated in an idyllically peaceful location enjoying stunning views over adjacent countryside and further to the distant hills above Peyia. Just 25 apartments share the facilities of a pool, sauna and gym, whilst our own guests can enjoy a family-sized BBQ on our fabulous balcony.
Within a mile of the centre of the traditional village of Peyia with all its tavernas, restaurants and bars, only 1.5 miles from the exclusive Coral Bay Resort and less than 2 miles from its fabulous sandy beaches, this apartment occupies a very privileged position in an exclusive development of just 25 apartments on the lower slopes of Peyia village. It is superbly situated to provide a perfect base for all your holiday exploring, locally and further afield - our apartment is in one of the best locations in Peyia.
The apartment also benefits from being only minutes away from Peyia's brand new bakery and supermarket, bank and DVD rental shop for all your immediate needs.

The Paphos District
There is just SO much to see and do:
• Paphos itself (about 20 minutes drive) - home to a majestic medieval castle, a picturesque harbour lined with bars and restaurants where you can sit and watch the world go by, the old town just waiting to be explored, the archaeological park with lavish mosaics from four opulent Roman villas and an outdoor theatre where summer concerts are still held, many traditional and modern shops, as well as indoor and outdoor markets, and of course plenty of restaurants, bars and tavernas!
• Tombs of the Kings (about 20 minutes drive) - a system of caves and rock-tomb complexes dating from Roman times - so-called, not because of any royal connection, but because of the opulence of the sites. Here are some of the best mosaics of Cyprus depicting many famous moments in history - the Birth of Achilles and Theseus slaying the Minotaur.
• Lara (about 10 minutes drive) - 2 km of beautiful freely-accessible beach lies to the south, whilst the famous Turtle Beach, with no access from June to September, lies to the north. The reason for this restriction is that rare turtles crawl up these sands to lay their eggs - occasional night-time walks are organised to see these marine animals struggling ashore.
• Akamas Peninsular (about 15 minutes drive to the area) - a region of spectacular, rugged scenery with sandy coves and hillsides of pine and juniper woodland - named after the son of Theseus. Practically deserted, with little in the way of surfaced roads, you would need a 4x4 to explore this area by car (or a Quad bike hired in Coral Bay!) - but it is a paradise for ramblers! There are marked trails of between 2 and 7.5 km within the area.
• Polis and Latchi (about 40 minutes drive) - on the north coast of the peninsular and surrounded by orange groves, Polis is an attractive holiday resort in its own right and Latchi has a pretty harbour to explore.
• Drouseia (about 20 minutes drive) - on the road to Polis, this hilltop village has picturesque stone houses as well as cafes and restaurants.
• The Baths of Aphrodite (about 45 minutes drive) - on the north coast of the peninsular - a grotto where a spring feeds into a shaded pool - where Aphrodite met her lover Adonis when he stopped to drink from the water, according to Greek mythology. A few kilometres further brings you to The Fountain of Love - but watch out - you might fall in love with the very next person you see after drinking from it!
• The Rock of Aphrodite (about 30 minutes drive) - just east of Paphos airport - where the goddess of love came ashore, according to Greek mythology!
• Aphrodite Waterpark (about 30 minutes drive) - just east of Paphos - fun for all the family - as long as you don't mind getting a little wet!
• For the golfers among us - there are three (or should that be fore!) top-rated golf courses within 30 minutes drive - Aphrodite Hills, Tsada and Secret Valley - all very scenic.
• Troodos Mountains - a little further afield(!) but well-worth the drive - snow-capped in winter and early spring enabling winter sports including skiing(!) - there are waterfalls, mountain villages and monasteries hidden in the forests of pine and cedar providing utter calm and tranquility even during the peak of the holiday season!
Peyia / Peyia Village area
• Peyia (which means 'Springs') - a charming and traditional village perched upon the slopes overlooking Coral Bay with a majestic church and unusual village square and gardens. It is about 12 km west of Paphos and about 3 km north of Coral Bay and boasts characterful tavernas, cosmopolitan restaurants and bars, local shops including bakeries, butchers, supermarkets and banks. It has plenty of narrow streets to wander around, with ancient stone houses and colourful gardens. Taxis are forever running up and down to Coral Bay for those who choose neither to drive nor walk!
• Coral Bay (about 5 minutes drive) - a smart resort which provides plenty of tavernas, shops, bars, restaurants and a 'Disco', as well as many other resort amenities including Crazy Golf, Pitch & Putt, Go-Karts, Quad bikes & Sand Buggies, even local Horse Riding. It is famous for its picturesque crescent-shaped blue-flag beach with cafes and lots of different watersports available - as well as plenty of free parking! There is also a frequent bus service along the coast to Paphos enabling visitors to choose not to drive.
• Agios Georgios (about 15 minutes drive) - has a lovely secluded beach as well as tavernas and picturesque fishing harbour. There is a regular bus service from Coral Bay.
How to get there
Peyia (Pegeia) is 3km north of the resort of Coral Bay which is on the south-facing coast at the far western side of South Cyprus, 12 km west of Paphos and 30km from Paphos International Airport.
Cyprus has two main airports: Larnaca and Paphos. There are flights from most UK airports including 'Monarch' from Luton and Gatwick, 'Easyjet' from Manchester and Gatwick and 'FlyThomasCook' from Stansted. Try the 'Travelsupermarket' website to get the best deals on flights and car-hire.
The Riverside 2 development is about 25 minutes drive from Paphos Airport and about 1.5 hours from Larnaca (which is easy motorway driving).
There are several car hire companies and many taxis operating at both Cyprus airports.

Further details indoors: The fully air-conditioned apartment is of the highest quality with furnishings to match. Both the living room and master bedroom open onto the huge balcony.
The apartment boasts a Samsung 32" flat-screen Satellite TV and DVD in the living room as well as an iPod Dock with speakers (for use with guests' own iPods), an open-plan fully-fitted kitchen with granite work tops and breakfast bar - as well as Samsung touch-control ceramic hob and twin-fan oven. The two double bedrooms have enormous built-in wardrobes. The fully tiled bathroom includes a bath with overhead shower. Solar panels provide endless hot water backed up by an electric system. Luxury towels & bed linen provided (except beach towels).
The Satellite TV system has access to many English channels including Films, Sport, Cartoons, Soaps and News. Please remember to bring along your own DVDs or else you can rent them locally.
We have provided a comprehensive 'Guest Information Book' within the apartment to help you get your bearings much more quickly so that you can start enjoying your holiday immediately you arrive. We encourage guests to add their own suggestions - from most-enjoyed restaurants to what's not to be missed. You'll also find a Cyprus Travel Guide to provide even more information.
Further details outdoors: In a block of only seven privately-owned properties, our beautifully peaceful apartment has a 1st floor elevation on the front, where its huge balcony, stretching the full width of the property, makes the most of the panoramic hillside views, and a ground-floor elevation on the back, where a dedicated covered parking space is situated immediately beside the apartment entrance - this makes it perfectly accessible for anyone with mobility problems (excluding the pool terraces).
East-facing, the balcony enjoys direct sun from breakfast until early afternoon but offers very welcome shade for the hottest part of the day. A family-sized BBQ brings even more fun to alfresco dining! The balcony also boasts comfy Rattan dining and sofa-set furniture, a 3m side-armed parasol and has the benefit of looking out over the main pool without being directly adjacent to it.
The large main pool (exclusive to just the 25 apartments remember) sits centrally on the lower terrace of the development surrounded by sun terraces, whilst a small pool (not a true Jacuzzi - but giving a fabulous back massage from its two powerful jets!) sits on the sunny upper terrace above. There is also an indoor sauna and well-equipped gym with changing rooms and showers.
We provide four light-weight fold-up sunbeds for guests to take down to the pool area, as well as two inflatables/lilos for those who prefer to relax in the water!
