The Paphos region

Cyprus has more to offer the visitor than any other Mediterranean island, a fascinating blend of landscape, climate, history and culture. There is a seemingly endless coastline of sandy coves and beaches washed gently by crystal clear blue waters.
Travel a little way from the coast into the pine forests , an hours drive in the Winter for skiing in the Troodos Mountains; experience a kaleidoscope of colours in the Spring time; meet the local people whose reputation for good food and hospitality is world-wide and you will discover for yourself why this magical island has been attracting people for over 9,000 years.
Birthplace of Aphrodite and in Roman times the capital of Cyprus, Paphos is one of the most beautiful and ancient towns of Cyprus and is situated on the southwest coast. Sheltered from the north by the Troodos Mountains, it has the healthiest climate in the Mediterranean. Paphos Harbour with it's ancient castle, marine and water sports centres, is lined with colourful restaurants serving fresh fish and marine delicacies. Nearby are archaeological sites, rich with antiquities, providing an interest away from the usual - in fact UNESCO has included Paphos on it's World Cultural Heritage List. There are no private beaches on the island and Cyprus boasts dozens of European Blue Flag awards. The secluded sandy beaches are perfect for snorkelling and every watersport you can imagine.
Golf can be enjoyed on 4 courses within a 40 minute drive. (please ask us for further details)
The Peyia / Peyia Village area
The village of Peyia is one of the most picturesque and popular villages in the area. It is spread over a large area with the village centre (1km away/15 minute walk) having many good amenities including bars, restaurants, tavernas, shops and a bank (to name but a few). Only a 5 minute drive away is the famous Coral Bay resort with its Sandy beach for all the family as well as its more extensive selection of nightlife and daytime activities. Only a short drive and you are at the Akamas Peninsula with its stunning unspoilt landscape and beaches as well as a few hidden gems for lunch or drinks in the afternoon.

We stayed in this Villa for 10 days during July having never been to Cyprus before. Whilst we personally did not like Paphos or the resort of Coral Bay (all down to personal taste) we could not fault the Villa at all it was a 4/5 star Villa. The Villa is bigger and better than any of the photos I had seen. The inside and outside space was very good (the pool was much bigger and could easily accommodate family of 5). We were two couples and an infant and we never felt on top of each other. There are three twin/double bedrooms. Two on the top floor and one twin on the ground floor with the rest of the living space. The decor was beautiful and maintained to a good standard. The facilities such as washing machine, dishwasher came in really useful during our stay and made the villa feel like a home away from home. In terms of location the villa is on a private road with 3 other villas none of which you are particulary over looked (we saw one other guest in another villa during our whole stay). Its set back from the village which might be a problem for some as its a short walk (on roads) to the village should you want to eat out of an evening etc. This was not a problem for us as we hired a car and explored the Island and frequented places such as Latchi and Polis as we did not really like the English feel of Coral Bay and Paphos. The Villa was cleaned to a very high standard mid stay and the pool was cleaned every other day (and we only saw the pool man once as he comes very early and is very quiet). I would definitely recommend this Villa to those wanting a peaceful sun soaked holiday. |
Guestbook for Villa Naxos

"Just got back from a fantastic holiday at Villa Naxos, our party comprised of 3 adults and 2 children. The villa was very well equipt and felt very homely with nice touches such as tea coffee and dishwasher tablets! The villa was not new but everything worked really well and there was such a feeling of space both inside and out with very effective air conditioning. It was a very tranquil setting with amazing views and great weather - our children hardly left the pool. The villa was really clean when we arrived which was great and a mid stay clean was great ( a real pride was taken by the cleaners). The pool was well looked after by the pool man who came every other day to check on the chlorine levels which initially were a bit high. Would highly recommend this villa - and would expect this level as the bench mark for future holidays! Thank you"

"We absolutely loved the villa and cannot fault it. Whist we did not love the Coral Bay resort itself we loved the fact that the villa was very much set back from this and we could venture in and out when we fancied. The villa is actually even bigger/better than the pictures on the website and I would definitely recommend it to friends and family. Many thanks for the return of the deposit and the vouchers. Kind regards, Sue"

"This was a fantastic holiday home, loved by all. very spacious, excellent fixture and fittings with a great pool. The setting and views are a dream. If you are happy with the peace and tranquility of village life then you will not require a car, but If you are visiting for the first time and you would like to see the island we would recommend a jeep. Great support service. Thanks for a great holiday"

Villa Naxos was a beautiful villa with panoramic views overlooking paphos. It was very clean and spacious. The only down side to to the villa was that it had a television but no t.v. ariel. We did have a DVD player but the DVDS were very poor pirate copies which we could not watch. We dont come on holiday to watch tv but when you have children they do like to watch a little tv of an evening. Our holiday neighbours in the next villa also complained about having a tv which could not be used. If we did have any problems we telephoned the villa staff who were very helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. I would certainly recommend this villa. If you want a quiet, peaceful, relaxing holiday set in a traditional village then this is the holiday for you!
Owner reply:
Many thanks for your very kind review. We have taken on board your comments and have added Sateliite TV to the villa. I very much hope that we see you again in Cyprus. Thanks again.
Best Villa we have stayed in aywhere by far. Very, very private. Views are amazing. You can hear a pin drop in the afternoons whilst sitting watching the Sunset. Very nicely fusnished also. 10 out of 10. Many thanks indeed. Matthew and Ruth from Hong Kong- Oct 2008
