What is there to do in Paphos with little ones?
Aphrodite Waterpark. With kiddies pool, slow side, pirate ship and water mushrooms. Entry to the pool shelves gently from the side and the maximum depth is 50cm. Plenty of sunloungers and large sun umbrellas. Paphos. 25 minutes.
Coral Bay Beach. A crescent of soft, white sand with plenty of sunbeds and beach umbrellas. The sea shelves gently and is safe for children. (5 minutes). Also Geroskipou Beach. Blue flag beach safe for children with shallow, crystal clear water. Paphos. 25 minutes.
Snake Georges Reptile Park. Conservation project for reptiles run by Snake George. Pushchair-friendly park with sun shade for the summer months. Located on the main road from Coral Bay to Paphos.
Kids Kingdom Paphos. Large indoor play centre for children from 2 years. Three floor play structure with soft play for toddlers. Restaurant and bar for parents. Paphos. 25 minutes.
Paphos Aquarium. Wide range of fish plus extras such as crocodiles, piranhas and sharks. Specially-designed lighting enables visitors to study the intriguing markings and beautiful colours of the different fish. Paphos. 25 minutes.
Cyprus Donkey Sanctuary. Sanctuary caring for old, unwanted and sick donkeys. Feed them treats and take them for walks in the area. Located in Vouni Village close to Limassol. 1hr 20
Paphos Bird Park. Ostriches, parrots, cockatoos, giraffes, ponies, gigantic turtles, geese, ducks and many others. With children’s petting zoo, restaurant and playground. Saint George, Peyia. 10 minutes.
Fasouri Watermania. Lots of water fun with kiddie pool for the little ones to safely splash around. Nominated in top 3 of Europe’s leading water parks. Shuttle buses run from the Paphos tourist area to and from the park. Limassol. 1hr.
Wild Valley Resort. Ostrich farm with farm tours, playground, ostrich products and a cafeteria which also serves Sunday lunches. Located just off the Pissouri turning on the Limassol/Paphos highway. 45 minutes.
Greek Meze. Introduce your little ones to these tiny offerings which just keep on coming! 7 St Georges Tavern - no set menu – just wonderful, organic meze from the freshest ingredients of the day. Geroskipou. 30 minutes.
Peyia / Peyia Village area
A flat, pushchair friendly walk (15 minutes) will bring you into the traditional Cypriot village of Peyia where narrow streets of traditional houses surround an ancient church. The village has shops, lively tavernas and a wonderfully aromatic bakery producing fresh bread, pitta, Greek pastries and cakes.
How to get there
Many airlines offer regular flights to Paphos (transfer time from airport to villa is 40 minutes).
Baby and child car seats may be pre-ordered with car hire. Cost for 2008 is around £12 per seat per rental.
