The Paphos District
Paphos harbour approx 15-20 mins drive from Peyia, to explore the island a car is recommended although taxis are available and buses are regular. Situated on the south west coast of the island. The harbour, known as Kato Paphos, there are many cafes, bars and restaurants. You can take a walk around the bustling harbour or embark on a boat trip for the day.
There are numerous sites of archaeological interest including the famous Tomb of the Kings and the protected Mosaics of Dionysus. The mythical birthplace of Aphrodite is a 20 minute drive away.
Paphos has one of the healthiest climates of the Mediterranean and boasts over 300 days of sunshine each year with warm temperatures throughout the seasons. The island is rapidly developing its reputation as a golfers paradise, with 2 championship courses, Secret Valley and Tsada along with the renowned Aphrodite Hills all within close proximity.
For the more energetic there are some fantastic trails for mountain biking or walking in the Troodos Mountains and Akamas National Park. You will get to see some spectacular views, visit some typical Cypriot villages and see a completely different side of this fascinating island.
Peyia / Peyia Village area
Peyia is a charming traditionnal village near Paphos. It offers a great selections of restaurants, tavernas and shops. For people looking for a good nightlife, Coral Bay village is very close: there, you will find nightclubs and restaurants and you will experience great entertainment and Cypriot food.
Peyia is ideal for the Mediterranean life style and the countryside offers wonderful views on the hills, which contrast with the blue of the Mediterranean sea. It is also well known for its Christian heritage and the ruins of 2 basilicas are close by and offer a great visit.
Several golf courses are within driving distance and will satisfy any golfing enthusiasts all year round.
There is a bird and a reptile park nearby which appeals very much to children and there are lovely beaches where water sports and diving are available.
