The Paphos District
Paphos Town is less than 20 minutes drive away, whether you take the coastal route or drive through the suburbs. There is plenty to see and do in and around the town, whether it be shopping, dining, visiting old Roman ruins or splashing around with the children at the Aphrodite Waterpark and even racing around the Go-cart track. Our Golf courses are also worth considering with three to choose from all between 25 to 45 minutes drive away.
What is there to do in Paphos and farther afield? Plenty.......
=== Paphos Fort === The small fort at the end of Paphos harbour was first built in the 13th century. Destroyed by the Turks & then rebuilt by the Ottomans. Plenty of restaurants and bars on the harbour with daily excursions available if you feel like taking to the mild and seductive waves our calm seas have to offer.
=== Tomb of the Kings === The Tombs of the Kings is a large necropolis located just over a mile north-west of Paphos harbour in Cyprus. Archaeological excavations are still being carried out at the site. The tombs are cut into the native rock, and at times imitated the houses of the living. Worth a visit.
=== Paphos Bird Park === The project started with Mr Christos Christoforou's love of Birds & Wildlife. The Park was originally going to be for Mr Christoforou's private use to house his enormous private collection of Birds, but he decided to open the Park for the public, so that they may also enjoy the splendours of his private collection & it also being a unique park in Cyprus. Mr Christoforou's other aim was to educate the local community about the importance of caring & conserving all bird & animal life. The Park took 3 years to complete & it was finally open to the public in September 2003.
===Troodos=== A drive up to Troodos is well worth a visit, passing thru many old and quaint villages with the added bonus of the occasional winery en-route too, Most wineries offer you a tour and tasting as well as the oportunity to purchasing a bottle or two...... We can also recommed a personally favoured Winery that also serves up a fantastic lunch so much so it's advised to not make any definite plans for your evening meal as the portions served at this winery are not only delicious but of a very generous size !!!
Peyia area
Peyia is a lovely old village with many quality restaurants, Several Banks and several small supermarkets available too. The long sandy beach of Coral Bay is a short drive away, with more bars, restaurants and shops. The Akamas area is quite close by, but not close enough to walk. Once you do get there though you can either enjoy the delightful sandy beaches, discover turtles at Lara Bay or simply just take to walking through the Nature Forest. The old town of Latchi with it's delightful fishing harbour and bustling restaurants is a must - we can recommend several. This is a mere 40 minute drive away.
