Peyia covers a large area, from the Peyia Forest on the hills high above our villa to the sea in the south, which you can view from our balcony & from Coral Bay in the east to the Akamas Peninsula in the west. The old town with its beautiful church, the square with the fountain of Peyiotisson & old stone houses sit alongside modern facilities, including banks, small supermarkets, a green grocers, a fantastic bakery, butchers, fishmonger, pharmacy & if you really need it, a gym !
Peyia, has a large number of family run cafes & restaurants ranging from tavernas, meze houses & traditional cafes with an even bigger choice in nearby Coral Bay.
A short drive away, Paphos is a tourist destination in it’s own right with many activities & archeological sites You can take a boat trip for sightseeing or fishing or just watch the magnificent view from one of its many restaurants & bars. Golf, tennis, scuba diving, go carting, horse riding a water park & the bird & animal sanctuary are all nearby

"A sheer delight !"
This must be the best villa we have ever rented. Situated in the hills above Paphos, in a quiet residential area it benefits from a pleasant gentle breeze when the temperature rises ( and it did ! ) Spacious, with good quality furniture, a lovely pool and a patio area with more than adequate loungers and parasols. All rooms had excellent air conditioning
( and I emphasise the word ' excellent ' ) with very efficient fly-screens on all doors and windows and, together witha fully equipped kitchen, it was just perfect.
There are several supermarkets in the vicinity which catered for all of our needs but a car is essential. Good restaurants are within easy reach and we particularly enjoued those in Peyia and the nearby Kathikia. All of our dealings with the owner Mario were smooth and efficient with the ability to contact him by e-mail or UK landline telephone a welcome advantage. He provided good written instruction, together with a map, on how to locate the villa on our night-time arrival drive from the airport and a welcome back of orange juice, bread and milk was a nice touch. There is a property manager who lives locally and who is willing to assist in any way should the need arise. The villa is very clean and there was a mid-stay towel and linen change. We had paid a £100 deposit at the time of booking, to cover damage etc., and this was promptly returned at the end of our holiday. We have absolutely no hesitation in thoroughly recommending Villa Athene.

"Best holiday in years"
This was the best family holiday we have had in years! The villa was spotless and quite frankly faultless, fully equipped (I cooked most evenings) and very comfortable. Set above the main coast of Coral Bay, the area retains the charm of the Cyprus I knew about 14 years ago, without the tackiness of some of the newer resort shops. The pool was a welcome relief from the heat of the day, with lots of pool loungers and outside eating available on both levels and the air-conditioning kept us cool for sleep in the evening. Breakfast overlooking the lovely view of the coast, free-wi-fi, catch-up and English satellite tv, a dishwasher and washing machine, as well as plenty of space, means we will definitely return. The villa is peaceful and set in the slightly cooler (breeze in morning and evening) hillside and had plenty of information and maps for our self-styled tours.
You do need a car as the village is up a long hill, but parking is much easier in the car park in Peyia than on the street. The village of Peyia was charming and we found everyone to be welcoming, speak excellent English and respond very well to my three words of Greek! We enjoyed seeing the goats in the orchard below the villa every few days. If you have a Blue Badge, take it as there is disabled parking in Paphos and Peyia. The covered Municipal Market in upper Paphos is easy to find and worth a look round for souvenirs and fresh fruit/veg. Tourist Information is next to the Market and has details in German, French and English as well as some free maps. There are beaches at Pissouri, Coral Bay, Latchi and Polis, but all are a mix of sand and shingle; take beach shoes. The owners and the agent were very helpful, with directions and information, which made our trip and stay very easy.
Food is about the same price as the UK, with our favourites being at the deli counter (cheese and ham), the bakery (still warm, fresh baguettes and doughnuts) and the meat counter (Mexican marinated pork) all at Philippo's main supermarket - I left a hand drawn map to it in the book in the villa. When we ate out, we tried the meze at the Peyia Tavern (make sure you book), and the huge hot and cold Greek buffet followed by authentic Cypriot dancing on Tuesdays at Yiannis in Kathikas (again make sure you book- both places are fully booked by the evening). Whilst very popular with the ex-pats, the Grande (behind the Jail Café in Peyia) was excellent value and a good setting for the evening.

"Lovely villa in peaceful location"
Very relaxing stay in well appointed villa. Location great if you want peace and relaxation. A car is essential. Only downside is row of unfinished houses being built slightly down the hill which spoils the view.

"Excellent villa with all amenities in a great location"
This is a well-maintained, spotlessly clean villa in a quiet position on a hill overlooking the sweep to the bay and blue sea beyond. The photo on the website does not do it justice as the plants in the front garden are now blossoming and look really beautiful. All amenities were provided on arrival and everything we required was available.
We spent a super week exploring the surrounds and going on coastal walks. The Roman mosaics at Paphos were particularly impressive. A hire car makes it easier to get around though it is a pleasant 10 minute walk into the village, especially in the evening with the twinkling lights in the distance, with good restaurants and shops selling/serving delicious food to suit all tastes.
All in all, this villa contributed to a lovely holiday and is highly recommended.
