The Paphos region
The town of Paphos was the capital of Cyprus in Roman times and dates from 1400 BC. The city was built on the spot where Greek legend believes that Aphrodite, Goddess of love, was born.
More areas of interest include Tomb of the Kings and Mosaics of Paphos dating from 5th Century. The picturesque harbour in Kato Paphos is popular with tourists where cafes and tavernas let you watch the world go by.
The climate is a warm Mediterranean - sunny, warm summers and short mild winters. Snow falls on nearby mountains of the Troodos range in late January/February where it is possible to ski. Paphos area boasts more than 340 sunny days a year.
Peyia is about 15kms from Paphos toward the Akamas Peninsula. It is a traditional Cypriot village built on a hillside inland from Coral Bay.
Pegeia or Peyia combines beautiful green surroundings with the many amenities in the village where
you can enjoy the traditional meals at the local tavernas, a long drink at one of the café bars or just walk around exploring the narrow streets or visiting the many sights. You can also buy all your provisions including fresh meat fruit and bread in the village stores - there is a post office and banks and also cafes where wi fi connection is available.
The main village is a pleasant 10 minute walk and allows the opportunity to admire the stunning bourganvillia and lemon trees.
Peyia also offers easy access to the Akamas peninsula, with its spectacular landscapes and deserted sandy beaches. To the north of Peyia, the road takes you through the hills and then on to Polis and Latchi where you will find quiet, unspoilt beaches. There are many acres of vineyards in steep valleys and some outstanding views to the Troodos Mountains and on to the coast and Aphrodite's Baths.
Golf courses close by include Aphrodite Hills and Secret Valley; for the beach lover Coral Bay has one of the best sandy beaches on the island.

"A great place to stay - home from home. Highly recommended!"
We have stayed at this apartment three times now and it feels like a second home! The apartment is well equipped and comfortable, and the swimming pool area was never overcrowded - in fact at times w… More

"Great location, fantastic views, ideal for exploring the area."
A modern, well-equipped, two-bed apartment in a quiet, hillside location overlooking Coral Bay. The airport is an easy drive approximately 40 minutes away. The village has a very good, comprehensive supermarket and there are several very good local restaurants - particularly 'Phideas' (spelling may not be exactly right!) on the main road junction - they went out of their way to provide vegetarian options which were not on the menu. Because the location is in a hillside village it is probably best to have a car for ease of access. The information folder in the apartment does contain details of local busses.

"Ideal Holiday Rental"
This apartment suited us very well as it was central to our needs. It would also suit a couple without a car as it is within walking distance of a supermarket, about 6 restaurants & on a bus route.
