Enquire nowThe Paphos region
With arguably the best Mediterranean climate, Cyprus enjoys some 330 days of sunshine every year and is thus very popular with visitors from the UK.
Paphos offers a great mixture of old and new. According to legend, Aphrodite the Goddess of Love was born here. Petra Tou Romiou (Aphrodite’s Rock) is a short drive away and an ideal spot to have a swim on a hot summer’s day. Paphos is also a designated UNESCO heritage site and has many treasures for those interested in archaeology. These include the Tombs of the Kings and the Mosaics which are situated down by the harbour.
The older traditional part of Paphos town has a large market and numerous shops, restaurants, tavernas, bars, bakeries etc. Kato Paphos is the newer part of the town, with the usual tourist attractions. The recent refurbishment of the area along the seafront is now complete and the mile long walk along the front is a delight. This is a wonderful place from which to witness the fantastic sunsets that Cyprus is famous for-maybe with a cocktail or a beer?
A lovely day out is a visit to the Troodos mountains. There is a choice of villages to explore en-route., where the local people will make you feel welcome. Alternatively you may join an organised trip.
Golf , fishing, water sports, walking, scuba diving, horse riding and karting are some of the many activities that are on offer in the area. There is also a Water Park in Paphos-great for all the family.
The Peyia / Zalakia area
Peyia is situated just a few minutes drive from the main Coral Bay Resort. The village has an abundance of facilities including banks, chemist, bakers/patisseries, butchers, fishmonger and supermarkets. There are five or six excellent traditional family owned tavernas/restaurants, which we prefer to the more "commercial" ones in Coral Bay & Paphos. There is also a choice of four bars in the village. The village celebrates all the main festivals in the square, where everyone is welcome.
Although set in a quiet area, there is so much to do nearby. The lovely Coral Bay beach is only 5 minutes drive from the village, where a selection of water sports and PADI scuba diving are available. Coral Bay also offers a wide variety of restaurants , bars and nightlife.
Less crowded beaches can be found at the nearby village of St Georges or on the spectacular Akamas Peninsula. There are also enjoyable walks along the coast.
If you like wine tasting, there are numerous vineyardsin the Paphos area - some better than others!!

Have stayed at this villa the past 2 years and have booked again for 2013. The most important factor for my family is the peace and tranquility the villa offers- no noisy neighbours or loud music to contend with! Villa is well equipped and maintained to a high standard throughout. Location is idyllic and is a good base for travelling whether it be to the many beautiful villages, north to Polis and Latchi or even further afield. |

we stayed at the Braeside for two weeks, as we was in Cyprus for our wedding. Sdaly because of a busy schedule we didnt get to spend many days up at the villa- but the days we did they were amazing. The villa is what you see in the pictures and more! Being upside down and having to use the kitchen upstairs took a little while to adapt to, as Kids are always hungry so I had to keep dashing up and down but its worth it for the wonderful views you get whilst enjoying breakfast. The pool is lovely and clear, would say to anyone take inflatables etc for the kids as you are a drive away from paphos, so unless you are going to drive down everyday its best to keep them occupied with the pool. The Villa has no negative points, and if there was I would of found it!!! Paphos is a good 30 minute drive, but to be honest if you have children then Coral Bay is a nicer evening out then Kato paphos unless you want the harbour. When we book our next Cyprus trip hopefully this villa will be available. many thanks to John and Linda for the information provided to us in the lead up to ourstay. |
