The Paphos District
Paphos is an all year round holiday destination, with over 300 days a year wall to wall sunshine. Accessibility is easy with the modern Paphos International airport welcoming flights in from all over the world, and is just 15km from Paphos centre and a further 16km to Coral Bay and Peyia.
Paphos has something for everyone, an abundance of history, its all happened in Paphos! Aphrodite her very self appeared from the sea, Tomb of the Kings hosts relics from thousands of years ago. So if you are keen historian, then Paphos ticks the box. If you are a lover of walking and beautiful scenery then once again Paphos ticks the box. Stunning, breathtaking views, throughout Paphos and the rest of this wonderful island will stay in your memories forever. For those wanting to top up the tan in the daytime and party at night, look no further. Blue flag beaches, secret beaches and municipal beaches, they are all here. Paphos comes alive at night with all types of entertainment for all tastes.
Paphos is now proud to present from November 2013, the new Kings Avenue shopping mall. A modern indoor shopping mall full of wonderful shops for all those shopaholics out there. For those not interested in shopping then take a well deserved snack or coffee in the Food Court area. Play area and 6 screen cinema coming soon.
Peyia, dating back many years, is set on the hillsides above Coral Bay, 15km north-west of Paphos.
The centre of the village still holds onto its very traditional Cypriot style, stone built houses, the locals sipping coffee outside on the pavements, the narrow streets where once only donkies passed through.
Driving up through Peyia Village, up over the hills, stop a while and take in the stunning views, or carry on to stunning Latchi Marina for an aperitif or fish Meze whilst sat by the Harbour taking in the sights.
Now to compliment all this, modern tavernas and cafe bars, plenty of supermarkets, banks even an English owned Medical centre and stores for all your holiday essentials.
There are many places to eat, whether you are looking for traditional fayre or fast food. Savvas grill a local Cypriot taverna offering a fantastic selection of traditional food. The Grande Cafe is very relaxed and is set in a courtyard, with comfy seating, basic menu, and you can also catch up with your emails here or let the kids play on the computer games.
Peyia is also very popular for wedding ceremonies, with many taking place at the town hall on a daily basis.
The Sunset Apartment Complex is situated just to the east of the main village area of Peyia with views of the Mediterranean Sea and the local countryside. It is conveniently situated a 10 minute walk away from the pretty village of Peyia with its taverns and shops and is only a 10 minutes drive from the beach at Coral Bay. The Akamas National Park is within close proximity
