Peyia / Peyia Village area

Peyia still holds onto its strong Cypriot values. The original village houses and meandering streets dominate the village centre, with the elders meeting for coffee and sat around discussing village life everyday. The local church towers over the village, the sound of the bells echoes across the village. Surrounding villages such as Tala, Kissonerga, Chlorakas and St George are all similar interesting places to visit, with so many types of fruit trees gracing the roadsides. The local village shops seem to be always open in the village, the smell of fresh bread from the bakery and the meat cut to order at the local butchers, along with the massive selection of fresh fruit and vegetables at the local supermarket compliments this wonderful way of life. Stroll up the road from the complex and enjoy a typical Cypriot meal at Savvas Grill, even try a spot of greek dancing in the street. Or for a more relaxing night, visit the Grande in Peyia village, Gabby and his family will be happy to meet you.

Whilst the village is quite hilly, the views when walking downhill are breathtaking!! Inevitably a car is essential in Peyia.

How to get there

Transfer time from Paphos International Airport between 40-50 minutes. A transfer service can be arranged for you at a cost of €35 one way or €60 return. A car is necessary as Peyia is a village set in the hillside 15km away from Paphos town and 3km from Coral Bay. Many flights operate into Paphos on a daily basis from all over the world.
