Home description
Petritoli is a wonderful place to visit at anytime of the year. The ground floor apartment is newly refurbished and is tastefully decorated and equipped with comfortable stylish furniture. It is tempting not to venture too far from the house during the summer, as sitting out in the terraced garden or in the Jacuzzi sipping a glass of Prosecco whilst enjoying the stunning views to the Adriatic is an attractive pastime! In the winter months the log stove in the sitting room also makes compelling evening company. Of course it is essential to take part in the traditional Italian evening passeggiata (stroll) stopping off at a local bar for appertivi (drinks and nibbles) at 12 noon or 6pm or both! The Italians enjoy their leisure time and surely that’s what a holiday is all about!
The spacious apartment is set within a splendid townhouse in the beautifully preserved small town of Petritoli with beaches and mountains within easy reach. The terrace and gardens have magnificent views across the rolling marchigiana countryside towards Fermo and Monte Conero. The apartment is conveniently positioned within this Medieval Hilltop Village and is close to the amenities. The Jacuzzi in the garden for clients use only.
There is a log burning stove in the large living/dining area for the winter months (there is central heating as well). The apartment is fully equipped with bed linen and towels for inside and outside/beach use. The garden is decked and shaded and fully equipped with seating and sunbeds.

The Marche / Abruzzo / Marche region
Le Marche is a lesser known region of Italy and it is said to be “one of Italy’s best kept secrets” . It is centrally located bordering the Adriatic at the east and the spine of the Sibillini mountains inland to the west. It is divided into five provinces; Ancona, Ascoli Piceno, Fermo, Macerata and Pesaro e Urbino. There is so much that Le Marche has to offer to the holidaymaker; Sunbathing and swimming in the sea at one of the fabulous resorts along the coast such as San Benedetto Del Tronto, Grottamare or further north to Sirolo and Numana. Inland there are many wonderful hilltop towns and villages to explore and of course if you wish to be energetic then walking in the Sibillini National Park is a must. Bigger towns to visit are Ascoli Piceno, Macerata, Urbino, Civitinova Marche.
The colours in the countryside are constantly changing with the seasons, but the pale brown clay cliffs and the small fields of green olive trees are perennial. The landscape is undulating with a plethora of medieval hilltop towns and villages each one containing the “centro storico” and “borgo vecchio”, the ancient centres with old castle walls and town fortifications. There are many vineyards in the Region and among the local wines are Vedicchio (white) Rosso Piceno, Rosso Conero (red).
In truth Le Marche has everything.
Petritoli area
Petritoli is a thriving small town with a good range of shops, restaurants, cafes, supermarkets and a bank within easy walking distance of the apartments. Petritoli is only 20mins drive from the Adriatic coast at Pedaso, with some of the best 'blue flag' beaches in Italy.
The Sibillini National Park is some 45mins car ride away where walking and hiking are plentiful. Skiing in the high Sibillini is very popular in the winter months. There are many medieval towns to explore throughout Le Marche including, Ascoli Piceno, Urbino, Macerata, Jesi, San Benedetto and Senigallia. Among the local wines to be sampled are rosso piceno, verdicchio and the magnificent vino cotto. Exploring further afield into neighbouring Umbria, Tuscany and Abruzzo is also relatively easy from Petritoli.
The closest beach is at Pedaso which is 20 mins drive away from the property. Other resorts are, Grottamare, 35 mins drive and San Benedetto del Tronto, 35 mins. To the north of the region are the popular resorts of Numana and Sirolo approximately 45 mins drive.
