The Marche / Abruzzo / Marche region
The region lies on the eastern side of central Italy, between the Adriatic Sea and the high Apennine mountains and much of it remains unspoilt by the ravages of mass tourism. Many visitors who come to Le Marche are looking for a taste of the "real" Italy, unsullied by mass tourism, yet welcoming to foreigners - if that's what you want, you won't be disappointed. The provincial capital of Ascoli Piceno lies at the southern end of Le Marche. This beguiling old town is well worth a visit.. Its marble-paved main square is one of the most beautiful in Italy. The alluring hilltown of Fermo is the capital of the newly-created province of Fermo which PETRITOLI is part of and boasts a fine historic centre. From Petritoli you'll find some of the most impressive mountain scenery to the south of the region amidst the Monti Sibillini, whose peaks are often covered with snow until the late spring. Wine alone could provide an excellent motive for touring in the Marche and winemaking in the area has been having its own little renaissance over the last ten years or so, with a move away from quantity towards quality.
Le Marche can boast one of the highest number of Blue Flag beaches of any region in Italy. The prestigious Blue Flagis awarded by the Foundation for Environmental Education to environmentally well-kept beaches across Europe. The important "eco-label" is given to sites that meet strict criteria including water quality, environmental management, safety and other services. Porto San Giorgio the seaside resort town was once the ancient port for the inland city of Fermo is now a pleasant seaside resort with a small working port it owes some of its charm to a few fine examples of the Liberty Style architecture that was much in vogue in the smarter seaside resorts across Italy at the turn of the 19thC. IIt's 13thC fortress, built by Lorenzo Tiepolo, later Doge of Venice, stands close by the town's central square, and has fine towers and high keep.
But the town's main attractions are its fish and its attractive beaches. There are plenty of moderately priced restaurants serving brodetto (the Marche fish stew) to choose from. There are also eating events or Sagre: Pretty well every town and village throughout the Marche has some food or wine event during the summer months.
Petritoli area
The people of Petritoli are very proud of their traditions and festivities which they organise with passion and dedication making everyone involved and enjoying participation from all the surrounding towns .Every week there is a food or musical event not forgetting the outdoor cinema and the 18th century theater that hosts an important musical festivity during summer.
Petritoli has an ambulatory hospiatal Contrary to received opinion,The Italian public health service, at least in the Marche, works very well. A modern, well-run network of hospitals covers the whole region and even in the most out-of-the-way corners you'll never be far from emergency treatment should you need it. For minor aches and pains make for the farmacia, near by. It keeps normal shop hours and can be spotted by a green cross outside; they also operate an emergency 24-hour service on a rotating shift basis, details of which are displayed in the window
In the event of serious illness or injury, head for the 24-hour casualty departments (pronto soccorso or punto di primo intervento) Also just nearby.
The area is a very well-known shoe maker region with over 4000 factories of high fashion shoes like TODS ,PRADA ,Paciotti , ROSSI,GUCCI, BLUE MARINE, and many other high fashon shoe and accessory producers with factory outlets & factory prices. There is a young lady available to show you around this area and these marks if you wish.

Guestbook for Palazzo Mannochi
After having been to most parts of Italy (the last two summers in the Tuscany near Florence), we ( two families with three children each) decided to see something new this year. The choice fell on Palazzo Mannocchi in Petritoli, a small medieval town in the Marche area. It would be too long a story to tell all our positive experiences, so here is a short summary: -Petritoli is a wonderful little village with its own good restaurants and cafés and from its hill one oversees a wonderful landscape with cultivated nature and similar small villages scattered on other surrounding hills. -The house is situated on the highest spot of the village thereby enabling the user to enjoy the fantastic view from virtually any window. Furthermore, the house has been restored with great care to convey its original charm. -We really appreciated the possibility of the options to either drive/bicycle around to discover the other small towns and cultural treasures or to simply go down to the sea at Porto San Giorgio (20 min. drive) and relax on the beach. -The owner of the house took very good care of us in order to help us making the best of our stay
