Also very Close to the conservation area of old Chlomos, with breathtaking views of Lake Korrisson and both sides of the south of Corfu to the Greek mainland, Lefkimi and Paxos. If I were to compare this area, I would compare it to the surroundings which Durrell first found on Corfu....In the old villages along the hillsides, locals still enjoy their traditional way of life - working the land with donkeys wearing traditional wooden saddles for carrying their load, the ladies hold the bulk on their heads as they carry the fruits of their work home, tending their sheep and Goats as they work the land. there is no competition or greed - just a way of life before supermarkets, cars, fashion and status.
The Ionian Islands region
Located on the south east coast, 8 km south of Moraitika and Messongi on the slender heel of Corfu with its sandy beach and crisp Ionian Seaside, hosting traditional family Tavernas' along its waters edge.
The Villa sits on the upper ridge overlooking the village and the Bay, a short walk to the beach, shops, tavernas' and pool.
The Port of Petriti is a popular sailing destination for ' Top Deck Sailing Holidays ' from the Greek mainland and is home to the local Fishing boats which bring fresh fish daily.
An unspoiled area of outstanding natural beauty and Ionian history - As yet, unsupported by mass tourism and crowds.
Nearby is The beautiful Korrission lake, Chalikounas & Gardiki beaches and Byzantine Castle ruins, Lefkimi. Marathias, Argarades and St. Georges South - Miles of Golden beaches and unspoiled natural beauty.
It's hard not to fall in love with the Ionian Islands, an archipelago that sweeps down the west coast of mainland Greece and includes Corfu, Paxi, Lefkada, Ithaki, Kefallonia and Zakynthos. Discovering these islands is a fantastic experience. Their natural beauty embraces the visitor – the vast olive groves, intriguing mountainscapes and iridescent waters of the Ionian Sea offer something for adventure seekers, culture vultures and beach bums alike.
In the summer there are local regattas and village fiestas - Panigyri - an insight into the traditional ways of Corfu
The second-largest and the greenest Ionian island. It is also the best known.
There are numerous walks including extensions of the famous 'Corfu Trail'
Good cycle routes are very popular in this flatter area of Corfu.
..... There is an abundance of ruins to explore throughout Corfu, such as the Venetian boatyard at Gouvia, the Ruins at San Rapos' and the Byzentine Gardiki castle, when travelling around Corfu look out for unstatemented ruins left to natures' intents .....just by the roadside.
The Durrell brothers – among others – extolled its virtues.
Corfu was Homer's 'beautiful and rich land', and Odysseus' last stop on his journey home to Ithaki.
Shakespeare reputedly used it as a background for The Tempest. In the 20th century,
The area is especially child friendly.

"Superb holiday in Petriti"
Our stay at Blue Harbour apartments was great. The apartment was spacious, clean and had everything we could ask for. Positioned on a quiet road toward the back of the village it was a short walk to the sea, shops and tavernas. Susan and David made us feel very welcome and were incredibly helpful when we wanted to hire a car or get advice about places to visit. In fact, had we not been advised by Susan and David, we would not have discovered some wonderful places on Corfu. Petriti is a quiet fishing village with a general store where we did most of out shopping and a post office. There are about 6 tavernas all offering excellent food and frequented by locals as well as holiday makers. Petriti is not a 'holiday resort' and this is what we liked about it. The locals are friendly, helpful and welcoming.
Great Review - we are so pleased you enjoyed your visit to the south of Corfu ... Our Local knowledge of the area can't be found on the internet or in guide books therefore, the places we advise to visit are still hidden gems, off the beaten track and some not on the map at all. The traditional Corfu, unspoiled and untouched by mass tourism.

We needed a simple no nonsense, no stress break and that's exactly what we got from the Blue Harbour! The accommodation was excellent, smart and very clean. We had just the right amount of attention from Sue, not too much and not too little. Early in the season the Village wasn't in full flow, (neither was the Island in general), but there were enough places open to provide a good choice of where to eat. We used the accommodation as a base to explore the Island. It had been a favourite of my Wife's parents and so we wanted to visit the places she could recall them mentioning. No doubt some have become more developed over the years but still very nice places to take a look at. We particularly liked the evening atmosphere in Corfu town. We would go back again. The only reason I felt I could not give maximum top ratings was because the accommodation is not located scenically near then sea. Not a problem for us but for some who want to see the waves it might be. There's a nearby Pool for use in exchange for an occasional drink or snack taken at the bar which I felt was a very fair exchange for the use of a Sun lounger if, like me, your not a fan of the sandy stuff.
Thankyou for you review - ease of booking... you booked directly with me, perhaps you meant your flights had to be booked seperatly? Also, we have a sea view and open vistas, it is a short walk to the beach front, harbour and beach-side restaurants as stated in the description.

First of all Blue Harbour owners David and Susan are great hosts, responded in no time on all our requests in a very friendly manner. In addition they are endless source of Corfu knowledge, which turned to be very helpful during our vacation. The house is located on a small hill, 5-10 minutes away from the nearest beach in the small fishermen village Petriti, 11.5 km away from the nearest ferry harbor (Lefkimi). We rented the bottom floor of the house, consisting of 2 kitchen areas with everything you'll ever need, 2 bathrooms and 4 bedrooms (beds are good!) in a nicely renovated Greek style house with a small garden with bbq area. Be aware of the neighbors small dog, it is stealing sea shoes at night time; however, the old lady was nice enough to return them :) Overall we are completely satisfied from our stay and I would recommend the place to everybody looking for a quiet vacation in south Corfu, where imho you can still feel the real Corfu spirit.

"Absolutely lovely place to stay. Owners great company and so helpful!"
We so enjoyed our stay at Blue Harbour, the accommodation was absolutely lovely and very comfortable with everything we needed. A home from home! The "resort" is a pretty little fishing village and perfect for getting away from it all. A handful of good restaurants served really tasty traditional food.. The owners Sue and David were really helpful and even took us out for two days showing us around the area which was very much appreciated. Thank you very much indeed, would love to return to Corfu again and would definitively stay at the Blue Harbour. Anne and Alan ( Newcastle)
It is a pleasure to hear the lovely reviews and realise we have great guests who appreciate the authenticity of the island. We try to promote a positive and truthful advert, and enjoy hearing your response.

"delightful studio /apt. in Petriti"
what a lovely find, studio with separate bedroom and pretty ensuite shower room, fully equipped lounge/kitchen,patio area with b.b.q. there,s a small beach in Petriti, nice restaurants, lots of yachts, not far to long sandy beaches on west coast. Spent five days exploring the area with help from owners Sue and David who gave us loads of info.and fresh tomatoes, melon and pears . Real Greek hospitality. would go again. It is an uphill walk from beach etc. ok if you,re fit, otherwise you need transport.
Thanks for the lovely comments, there is a short walk from the beach. It is an elevation, taking you to the upper level of the village. I would like to confirm it is a pleasant uphill walk, and not a mountainous climb.

Good stay, value for money. Quiet place, nice people. The walk back home after visited taverna or beach was not so pleasent than to the beach. You must visti "paradise" beach. Fantastic. The best thing is to rent a scooter. Mr Robinson was helpful and took us the the rental office.
Thank you for your review

"a very relaxing holiday away from the tourist areas"
this was our third visit to the blue harbour apts,Sue & David made us very welcome and have lots of tips on what and where to visit and places to eat.We stayed in the studio which is very clean and comfortable and has its own bbq, seating and grassed area. Petriti is a traditional Greek fishing village with a selection of tavernas on the sea front, There is a minimarket which sells everything you need and there is a traditional bakers where you can get fresh bread in the morning still warm from the oven
