Barn | 6 bedrooms | sleeps 12
Located on the old Roman road, Stone Street, around 5 miles out of Canterbury on the way to Hythe this is an 18th Century barn which has been converted into two holiday cottages that can be internally linked to form one large property for big parties.
Smuggler's Rest is a two-storey, four-bedroomed property and Moonrakers is a two bedroomed ground floor property which is also suitable for disabled use, giving 5 doubles and a twin in total. A cot is also available.
Being a former pub/restaurant/hotel the property has sizeable grounds with ample parking areas. The barn has lawns to the sides and rear and guests are welcome to make use of the outside facilities. Picnic tables/seats and barbecue are supplied.
Slippery Sam's dates from around 1450 and is a Grade II listed building. It is named after Samuel Jackson, a notorious smuggler who once lived here.

The Kent region
Fairly rural quiet location. Several pubs (serving food) within a couple of miles. Public transport virtually non-existent - car is a must. Easy reach of both M2 and M20, channel ports and tunnel. Lots of pleasant villages locally. village shop 10 mins, supermarket 15 mins. Canterbury some 5 miles away has everything you'd expect of a city. London an hour by car or less than 30 mins in high speed train from Ashford.
