Villa | 1 bedrooms | sleeps 3
Villa Seeka is one of 3 fabulous villas that comprise 'Kolpos Thea Villas' . It is a peaceful, rural small holiday retreat set in an acre of beautiful terraced gardens and surrounded by fig and olive trees and with breathtaking views of the sea and mountains beyond. At the centre of the gardens is the wonderful large pool area with sun terrace, bar and barbecue area.
Villa Seeka is the smaller villa (sleeps up to 3) and has 2 verandas, one at the back under the olive trees with soft furniture and the other facing the wonderful view of the sea and mountains. This veranda has dining furniture and is covered with bougainvillea, vines and sweet scented jasmine. Inside the villa is on one level and is L shaped. there is a large bedroom with twin beds that can combine to make a large double, there is a very big wardrobe with plenty of storage.
The living room has a sofa-bed which opens to a wide single bed. The kitchen is very well equipped and has a breakfast bar with stools for 3.The living area has views of the sea, mountains and olive groves. There is a very spacious shower room. Please note that we also have a fold-up bed available on request.
Unusually for self-catered villas there is a pool bar, very popular with the guests, serving low-priced drinks and cocktails and excellent food, (the cook's meze is a must!). There is also a petanque area and two barbecues available for use by guests, we provide the charcoal.
The area around the villas is a very traditional rural Greek lifestyle, with low-key tourism and a wealth of ancient sites (including Olympia around 2 hours drive and Ancient Messini, about 40 minutes drive), many wonderful and varied beaches, charming little Greek fishing villages with waterside tavernas and a wonderful lush green countryside of mountains, woods, rivers and waterfalls.

The Peloponnese region
The Peloponnese is a little-known jewel of Greece. The climate is gentler than many parts of Greece and winter rains create a wonderful green and lush countryside with rivers, lakes and waterfalls that run all year round. The searing temperatures found around Athens tend to be milder here. The area has low-key tourism with wonderful local food and some excellent local wines. There are high mountains inland, snow-capped until early summer- indeed there are two ski resorts in the Peloponnese. The West Coast has wonderful pine woods and vast beaches with sand dunes, the other coasts and inland areas have a huge range of plants and wild flowers, which carpet the olive groves up until mid May. The Peloponnese also has the most ancient Greek sites to be found in one area as it has played an important part in Greek history, Olympia is one of many wonderful sites in the area.
The Villas are near Kalamaki which is about 12 Km from Koroni, 6 Km from Petalidi and 3 Km from Chrani. There are many beaches, from long sandy sweeps to small coves of mixed sand and pebbles with great snorkelling. The peninsula has rolling tree-covered hills, olive and orange groves and has wonderful views with the sea on three sides and nearly always in view. There are many ancient sites, Nestor's Palace and Ancient Messini to name just two, and many more. There are also many Medieval castles in the area, including Koroni and Methoni. All around the coast are really picturesque fishing towns and villages where holidaymakers can sit at the water's edge eating delicious food at very low prices and watching the fishing boats come and go. If you are looking for a trully relaxing holiday in a stunningly beautiful area of Greece that has changed little in the past 40 years then you will fall in love with Messinia and the Peloponnese. Many who come here return again year after year.

The setting, the villa, the facilities and Rendezvous are all beautiful and special enough to make this a dream break, we have had an incredibly relaxing time and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. This holiday has been everything we hoped and wished for and more, and the sailing was three days of wonder and challenge! The area is full of things to do and see, ranging from lovely beaches, antiquities to great castles and quality local food and wine. Villa Seeka was absolutely fantastic as were Cliff and Quee who made us so welcome and helped us make the most of our stay.
