The city of Pescia takes its name after the river which divides it in two parts and which makes it cool and pleasant for visits especially during the spring and summer.
The Medici family was very important for this city. Leone X - Medici's Pope - erected its first parish in 1519 and then the same family improved its economy. The main economy in the past was from paper making, leather and silk were their main sources. Today Pescia lives on flower cultivation and tourism.

Guestbook for Casa Verde
A beautiful experience, loved Casa Verde.... the views... the terraces... the style thanks Darren. Eat local at the Pizzeria Bistrot & Maneros in Vellano both have great views and good food. Linda and Steve Australia & Lesley and Steve England - April 2012.
We have had a great two weeks. The highlights have been our trips to the Pinocchio Park our five year old loved it. Ice creams at La Barrachina nearby in Pescia, the 'funicolare' ride up to Monecatini Alto and the Selva del Buffardello an outdoor centre in the Garfagnana simular to Go Ape. Our hosts could not have been better. Donna, Ed & Family April 2012.
A last minute change of plan brought us to Casa Verde and what a stroke of luck that was. The location is great, views magnificent and hosts most accommodating. We would recommend it to anyone who wanting an away from it all holiday. Vellano is a beautiful little town and the people in the local restaurant excellent. Thanks again for fitting us in. The Robertshaws and Lumbs, Bradford. UK. July 2010.
Our first trip to Italy based at Casa Verde, it’s a great location for visiting Pisa, Siena, Florence and Lucca. Both our hosts were great providing any information we needed. We really enjoyed the peace and quiet especially on the sun terrace in the early evening. The local food and people were very friendly. We hope to come back soon. The Oliver’s, Manchester. UK. July 2010.
This has been a wonderful, 'get away from it all' break - our first 'proper' trip to Tuscany, and I'm sure it won't be our last. Casa Verde has been an excellent location to stay, near to regional centres, but far enough to provide that magical Tuscan quality. The Apartment is excellently equipped and the owners have been excellent hosts. They certainly seem to have thought of everything in making this a very special and memorable place to stay. The highlights have been the fantastic trips to Lucca and Florence and this afternoon a medieval festival at Monticarlo. Equally fabulous has been the opportunity to simply sit on the terrace listening to Puccini. The Puccini museum is a must at Tore del Lago. We would certainly recommend Casa Verde.
