The Marche/Abruzzo region

Pesaro is within the Le Marche region, which is geographically connected with the Apennines running through them and culminating with the imposing range of the Sibillini mountains, sloping down to the Adriatic sea and the magnificent beaches for which they are renown.

Pesaro

Pesaro as with many other surrounding towns features a medieval old town and a modern part that has developed around the harbour and along the seafront. It is rich in monuments of great culteral and artistic interest. Among them are the magnificent Ducal Palace, the former church of St. Dominic with an elegant Gothic portal and the Museum that keeps a valuable collection of works of art including the famous majolicas for which the town is famous. Visitors in the summer months will find a host of celebrations and festivals in the town and many other nearby towns.
