Santa Chiara is set in a quiet rural valley among 2 ½ acres of mature terraced olive groves and landscaped gardens. It has magnificent views of the valley and surrounding hillsides and is an idyllic place for guests to unwind. This traditional Umbrian stone farmhouse has been carefully restored using original and antique materials wherever possible and converted into 3 luxury holiday apartments. Each apartment has its own independent entrance and private outdoor dining space.

The Umbria region
Situated in Northern Umbria close to the borders of Tuscany and Le Marche, this is an area of particular beauty and unspoilt scenery, ranging from the dramatic peaks of Monte Sibillini, to the rolling green hills around Assisi and Perugia. The olive groves and forests of beech, holm oak and chestnut create a wonderful backdrop to a wealth of famous historic hill towns and settlements.
Perugia / Umbertide Area Pierantonio area
Accessed via an excellent white road, Santa Chiara is set in a quiet rural valley just 2km outside the small village of Pierantonio and is only 5 km south of the thriving market town of Umbertide. The train station in Pierantonio offers a good link into Perugia (35 mins). The E45 autostrada is also easily reached from the Pierantonio junction. Santa Chiara is accessible by a large number of airports including Ancona, Bologna (Forli), Florence, Perugia (PEG), Pisa and Rome.

Further details indoors: 'RANCOLFO' - Sleeps 4. Situated on the ground floor in what used to be the wine cellar and livestock stalls, this apartment has wonderful views of the pool area and surrounding countryside. There are two large double bedrooms, one master suite with king sized bed and en suite shower room, the other with twin beds and a separate family shower room. Additionally in the lounge there is a comfortable sofa bed which can accommodate two more guests. Throughout this apartment there are high chestnut beamed ceilings and terracotta floors. The living space in Rancolfo is particularly spacious and light, with a traditional archway connecting the comfortable lounge to the open plan kitchen / dining area. This area was formerly used as a hayloft and still retains its unique double height ceiling and original chestnut beams. Throughout the apartment there are feature walls in exposed stone giving it a traditional rustic feel.
Further details outdoors: A BBQ area is also available for guest use. On a secluded sun-trapped terrace is the 10 by 5 metre swimming pool which is designed to be child friendly with stepped entry and a shallow ledge around its perimeter. The area is fenced with access via a gate and has a large patio with sun loungers. The English speaking owners Paul and Anita live on site and are happy to help answer any questions you may have.

Please note that the rates for Rancolfo are based upon up to 4 people sharing the apartment. A levy of €100 per person per week will made for any additional guests. Prices are inclusive of all linen, towels (not pool towels) and final cleaning. A €100 breakages deposit is required on arrival, this will be refunded at the end of the holiday less the cost of any damages or breakages or more than reasonable cleaning. An additional charge will be made during the cooler months for heating and fuel and rates will be advised at the time of booking. Guests should arrive after 4.00pm and vacate the property before 10.00am. Storage of luggage can be arranged outside of these hours. A normal week is from Saturday to Saturday, but please contact us if you wish to discuss alternative days, we will be happy to try and accommodate you.
