About the home

Villa Primavera is a beautifully restored cottage, set in the Umbrian countryside, with its own pool and garden. The cottage displays a wealth of attractive features including handmade terracotta floors and traditional beamed ceilings along with all the modern conveniences necessary to make your stay an enjoyable one. Relax on the loggia, with it's delightful views across the pool and garden, and enjoy an alfresco meal after a day exploring one of the area's attractions.

We are happy to do a supermarket shop for you prior to your arrival. Most shops are closed on Sundays.

Conditions

Strictly no smokers

Non refundable deposit of 30% is payable at the time of booking. The balance is due six weeks before the the holiday starts.

A security deposit of £200 to cover breakages is payable with the final balance. Refunds are made within one week of the end of your holiday.

The Umbria region

Known as ‘the Green Heart of Italy’, Umbria has a huge amount to offer it's visitors, as well as being within easy reach of the major cultural centres of Florence, Siena and Rome. Nestled between Tuscany, Marche and Lazio, Umbria has fantastic variety in its beautiful and dramatic landscape, mountainous in the east and rolling hills in the west, from the majestic Monti Sibilini National Park to the welcoming shores of Lago Trasimeno .

Some of Italy's most distinctive medieval towns are to be found in the hill towns of Umbria. Perugia, a 20 minute drive from Villa Primavera, is its largest, most cosmopolitan city, with dozens of galleries, street cafes and historic buildings. Orvieto boasts a proud Etruscan history and a spectacular Gothic cathedral. Assisi, famous as the birthplace of St. Francis and for its magnificent basilica, is one of Umbria's essential sites. Spoleto also has a magnificent cathedral and famous ancient aqueduct.

Umbria is also famous for it's local feste - festivals. Umbria Jazz enlivens Perugia in the summer and Orvieto in the winter. Spoleto is the home of the Festival of Two Worlds (Festival Dei Due Mondi) one of Europe's longest running arts and music festivals. More recently TodiArte has brought festival culture to Todi's summer, while culture of another sort is celebrated each Autumn at Perugia's chocolate festival.

Along with its art festivals Umbrians celebrate a rich variety of historical festivals. Gubbio hosts two of the most famous, the Corsa dei Cieri or the Race of the Candles and a crossbow tournament, the Palio della Balestra, but many Umbrian villages stage their own.

The Perugia / Castello delle Forme area

Within a thirty minute drive, you will find the region's capital, Perugia, Lago Trasimeno with its islands, beaches and water activities, Assisi, and, to the south, Todi. Near Todi, is Monte Castello di Vibio, a charming village, which also contains what they describe as "the smallest theatre in the world". During the summer months, the area is buzzing with sagre and feste, which are very italian and not to be missed. Music lovers will be more than happy with the range of events organised locally, often fuori, or outside in the summer months.

By plane and car
Fly to Perugia from Stansted, only a 20 minute drive from Villa Primavera.
Fly to Rome(2hrs), Ancona (2hrs), Pisa (3hrs) or Bologna (3hrs) then hire a car at the airport.
Budget flights are available with Ryanair and Easyjet
Avis, Hertz, Europcar and Maggiore car hire companies operate from all the airports
We can offer a pick-up service from Perugia airport or if you arrive by train from Perugia station or Papiano station. There are good rail services from the main airports
