La Macina di Bettona is a small farm holiday apartment complex offering various solutions for it's guests(See other homes from this owner).
It is an ideal base for visiting the many historical towns and villages of Umbria and Southern Tuscany, or for just relaxing by the pool, set in the olive grove.
Il Raggio is a large ground floor apartment with 2 double bedrooms.It has a shower room, and very spacious lounge/kitchen with double settee bed.The apartment is tastefully decorated throughout and has it's own entrance plus covered portico suitable for outside eating. It also has a small sloping garden which can be accessed from the lounge.The BBQ area is close by.
English assistance available whenever necessary.

Il Raggio apartment is set on the hill below Bettona and has far reaching views to Assisi and beyond.
There is a BBQ area just outside the front door.
The 7m x 15m pool can be reached by crossing the quiet country lane at the bottom of the drive.(50m).The pool is surrounded by a furnished patio area set within a lavender and rose garden.
A children's play area is situated just below the pool, surrounded by olive trees.

The swimming pool is open from 25th May to 30th September 2010.
Swimming caps must be worn in the pool.

The Umbria region
Umbria, better known as the green heart of Italy has so very much to offer to whoever decides to visit.Be it for a cultural holiday or just a peaceful break away from it all.This region is steeped in history offering the visitor an incredible number of beautiful and historical places to visit and enjoy. Assisi, Todi,Montefalco, Spoleto to name but a few.
The balmy summer evenings are enlivened by the numerous village festas held throughout the region.These festas are great fun for allthe family and all offer great traditional food at reasonable prices.
The Perugia / Bettona area
The etruscan village of Bettona is situated high up on the hill, enclosed within the walls,looking towards Assisi, Perugia and Spello.
Within easy driving distance there are so many things to see and do.
For example, why not eat out, very reasonably at one of the local festas,or just enjoy the music.
Try the medieval festival " Il Mercato dell Gaiete" at Bevagna held in June,Umbria Jazz or Spoleto Festival both held during July or one of the many local festas held in August and September. Try a guided bus trip around Perugia.
Plenty of sports to try in the area Golf, riding, tennis and a little further a field rafting and rock climbing
The village of Passaggio(2km) offers all the services needed to enhance your stay, e.g well stocked supermarket, petrol station, bank, bakery, take away. Assisi, the home of St Francis is just a 15minute drive away, whilst Spello, Bevagna, Perugia,Orvietro as well as many other towns, are all within easy driving distance.

Great apartment for a family, easy walk to local supermarket and facilities to cook yourself. Access to pool and plenty of entertainment, wonderful views, great relaxing atmosphere. Loved it. Perfecto! Roberto a friendly and helpful host. Hopefully will be back. |

This was our second time at macina di Bettona! Our first time was so wonderful for us and the kids, that we booked for this year also. The panoramic view of Assisi is really amazing; the appartment is very large and clean and with some distance from the pool (safety for our kids) Every wednesday a delicious BBQ with all the guests and the onwer! We love it and will be back next year! |

This trip was the third to la Macina and we still love it. Our children are between 8 and 11 and this year we once again travelled with friends. The area has so much to offer and there are plenty of sights within a max. 1 hour drive. The apartment is well suited for a family of 4-6 with a nice shaded terasse. The pool area is fantastic and large enough to have several guests. The view is stunning looking over the hill tops and to the city of Assisi. The owner (Roberto) is very welcoming and serviceminded. Dont miss out his invitation to barbeque every Wednesday. The owner has assistance from Liz who is english and also very helpful in all situations. This agriturismo is absolutely recommendable. We will be back. |
