Apartment in old Castle (castle)

Home description

The apartment is very warm and comfortable. Is on two levels, at first floor the living room with the kitchen, at the second floor the 2 bedrooms and the bathroom with shower. It's full furnished and you'll find all you need for a great vacation. A swimming pool 12 x 7 is situated near the castle, with bathrooms and changing rooms and all around a lot of olive trees.

The Umbria region

Umbria is the most historical region of Italy, full of Churchs, monuments and religious place. During the summer time there are a lot of typical local rapresentation of hystorical old daylife. The climate is hot during summer and cold in the winter, but warmer than nord Italy. Assisi, Orvieto, Spoleto, Spello, Lake Trasimeno , are all within a 30 minute drive from the house. Cortona, Gubbio, Arezzo, Citta di Castello, Terni and Norcia are all about 1 hour drive away. Siena (115 km) is in southern Tuscany, 90 minutes away. Florence (140 km), and Rome (175 km) are about 2 hours drive.

Perugia / Gaiche area

Gaiche is 2.5 km from Castiglion Fosco, old medieval place, in which you've a box office, a bar with tobaccos, a pharmacy and a mini market for essential items. 5 kms away there's the town of Tavernelle. Here it has 2 supermarkets and a full range of shops, banks also with bancomat, cafes, post office, a big pub and restaurant, a pharmacy, chemist, butcher and much more.
Perugia is 20 km to the north and Todi 38 km to the south. 25 km you've the important railway stop of Chiusi, really well connected with Rome, 1 hour by train. At 18 km you've Città della Pieve. In 20 minutes by car you'll arrive to Castiglion del Lago in Lake of Trasimeno, 20 minutes more to arrive to Cortona, near Arezzo.

How to get there

You can arrive to Gaiche very easily, a variety of airports with direct flights from the UK:
Ryan Air have direct flights from London to Perugia airport, only 20 km away from Gaiche;
Rome Ciampino airport, just under 2 hours away, has flights with Ryanair and EasyJet;
Forli and Bologna airport only over 2 hours away from Gaiche;
Ancona airport only 2 hour 30 minutes.

Inside the apartment you will find all you need for first need, as water, wine, salt, coffee, oil, pasta, for your arriving during nights or shoppings days off.

Swimming pool is available from beginning of May to mid of October. Please bring own pool towels.
You will find also wood for firewall. In few minutes by car you can arrive to the shopping place, in which you have market, pharmacy, bar and everythings you need.
