A small complex of family run apartments situated on the hill below the etruscan village of Bettona, opposite Assisi(approx 12km).La macina di Bettona is an ideal base for, either visiting the many historical towns and villages of Umbria and Southern Tuscany,or for just relaxing by the pool set in the olive grove. The farmhouse is divided into 3 apartments with the possibility of renting a fourth apartment within the grounds. (See other homes from this owner). IL Maurilio is a large ground floor apartment,with wheelchair access.The apartment has 2 double bedrooms, one with en suite shower room.There is a second large shower room, suitable for disabled guests.Both bedrooms have french windows opening out on to the garden area leading down to the pool,with a furnished patio for al fresco eating.This patio area is reserved for use by guests staying in Il Maurilio. The kitchen is fully fitted with an oven/hob,fridge/freezer and dishwasher. The separate dining room/lounge which has maintained many of the original features,is very spacious,and has a double settee bed. In the front garden there is a BBQ,whilst the pool and children's play area are situated at the bottom of the footpath below the apartment in the olive grove.

The Umbria region

The balmy summer evenings are enlivened by the numerous village festas held throughout the region.
Perugia / Bettona area
The village of Bettona, is situated high on the hill, enclosed within the etruscan walls,overlooking Assisi, Perugia and Spello. At the end of July, the village hosts its' famous Goose Festa, where it is possible to try some of the many local delicacies,whilst being entertained by a local band in the village square. There are two very good restaurants in Bettona. The village of Passaggio(2km) offers all the services needed to enhance your stay,e.g well stocked supermarket, petrol station, bank, bakery, take away and internet point. Assisi, the home of St Francis is just 20 mins drive away,whilst Spello,Bevagna, Perugia Orvieto and many other towns are within easy driving distance.
How to get there
Cheap flights available with Ryanair 4 times a week from Stansted to Perugia airport(approx20km) Alternatively fly to either Rome airport (approx 2 hours drive away) or Pisa airport (just over 2 hours away) Try Ryanair, Easyjet BA or Alitalia for flights. Car hire can be booked with flight or prebooked at destination airport

Further details indoors: This apartment has disabled access and a large shower room equipped for disabled guests.The front garden is flat but there is a gentle slope down to the pool area. Laundry room with coin operated washing machine and ironing facilities for use by guests(not suitable for wheelchair access). Equipment for small babies can be requested when bookingat no extra charge. All bedroom,bathroom and kitchen linen provided. Electricity, gas and water consumption included in price plus end of stay cleaning. Central heating available at extra cost.
Further details outdoors: The farmhouse is set in spacious grounds that are shared by the 3 apartments,however each apartment has its' own entrance and own furnished patio for outdoor eating ,close to the BBQ area.There is a children's play area in the olive grove below the 7m x 15m pool.
