The Umbria region
The region of Umbria is located in the central part of Italy and benefits from a beautiful climate. Rain is rare in the Summer and temperatures can reach up to 38 degrees celsius. The territory of this region is essentially hilly and very green. Grapevines and olive trees leave an unmistakable mark on the landscape of hills. Umbria offers a great mixture of sporting and cultural activities. Places to visit include Assis, Todi, Siena, Cortona, Gubbio, Spoleto, Spello and Torgiano Wine Museum.
Perugia / San Enea area
There is much to do locally. Perugia often holds free outdoor concerts as well as July's Umbria Jazz, one of the most prestigious jazz festivals. There are also many traditional product fairs in the local villages such as San Enea, villanova, Corciano and Papiano.
Sports activities include sailing on the nearby Trasimeno lake form Castiglione del Lago, one of the largest lakes in Italy and horse riding lessons in San Valentino (2km). Cultural activities include visits to Assis and Orvieto, famous among tourists and pilgrims alike for being artistic and historical centres.
It is possible to learn more about Italian traditions and Umbrian specialities by taking a private cooking course in Perugia. This is the perfect chance to learn how to make that complete Italian dinner you've dreamed about. Wine tasting and purchase are psossible at Cantina Chiorri just in front of the Villa.
