region, Pieve della Badessa is a wonderful holiday villa in an undisturbed natural setting in the middle of the rolling hills of Umbria, with stunning view where each window is a picture on sunflowers and fields
This lovingly restored 16th century friar's abbey has been expanded to create a charming country retreat adding also a delicious patio, for al fresco dining, the est side is that survives of an ancient Benedectin Pieve reach of history and suggestive past

Coming back in the evening from ROME or FLORENCE , tired but satisfied after your faboulous daily visit, as soon as after a fresh afternoon spent to explore the medieval lanes of the historical towns such as ASSISI-PERUGIA-SPELLO-GUBBIO-TODI-ORVIETO-MONTEPULCIANO-CORTONA-SIENA, close 30-60mins, you will finish breezily your day around one of the three long tables near the pool or under the patio, or into the villa,. Better again if you find a long table waiting for you, covered by the typical delicious ombrian menu that the excellent cook prepared for you

The MAIN VILLA for 10 people with GUEST'S HOUSE for 8 people are surrounded by expanses of grain and sunflowers where the walkers will find nice pathways to reach the close village and taste a coffe break

For the lovers of the explorations, the strategical position in centre of Umbria allows to reach both FLORENCE and ROME in less than 2 hours drive, like as the ancient medieval towns of Umbria and Tuscany can be explored at leisure.
Both Perugia and Assisi can be seen in the distance, while Todi, Gubbio, Spoleto, and Orvieto are less than 40 mins drive.

If your interest lies in sampling the famous Brunello wines of Monalcino, the Vino Nobile of Montepulciano, and Pecorino cheese of Pienza, these Tuscan towns are within an hour's drive.

The villa is placed in a strategical position in the centre of Umbria and at just 20 minutes by car from Tuscany border and Cortona town

Medieval towns such as: ASSISI - PERUGIA - SPELLO - SPOLETO - GUBBIO - ORVIETO -TODI - are very near us, and they are very easy to reach in 30-40 minutes, and you can to be your culture reach visiting beautiful pictures of Giotto, Perugino, Benedetto Gozzoli, Lorenzetti and more; also SIENA - MONTALCINO - S. GIMIGNANO, PIENZA in Tuscany and many of the beautiful further Tuscan towns must to be reached in 1 hour and half.

You can also visit also FLORENCE or ROME that are only 2 hrs by car.
In few time you can also discover DUNAROBBA the famous archeological stone forest

To be in an area surrounded by beauties during the whole year is a privilege. During June and July the fields ravish your eyes with their expanses of sunflowers, during November the countryside is covered with fantastic autumn oaks coulors. From May to September, many villages organize festival dinners with local food - a real experience in Italy where you can find a superb typical taste ! Village festivals for al fresco dining in the evening with local foods.

For the sporty among us there are great discounts for the horse riding only 1km away - and nearby there is also Trasimeno Lake with surf only 16 km away.

For the wine lovers, in Torgiano you can visit the first "cantina" of Umbria with LUNGAROTTI wine

“An excellent group villa holiday” All twelve of us (six couples) very much enjoyed staying at this villa with its interesting architecture and lovely pool. Nino, the owner lives in the adjoining part of the premises, and, without intruding, was most friendly and helpful. On one evening he provided for us a superb six course meal of typical Italian fare and home produced wines.There is ample opportunity for eating out-of-doors, and there is a bbq facility near the pool. The villa is somewhat isolated but there is a good supermarket within ten minutes drive, and so it was easy to replenish stocks of food and drink. Perugia town is easily accessible, but we would definitely recommend having a good, up-to-date road map for ease of finding one's way about. Perugia, Assisi and Gubbio are highly recommended visits in this beautiful region.
