Home description

Glen Prosen is situated 10 min away from the charming market town of Alyth on the hill of Auchteralyth.
You can get away from it all, sip your coffee in the garden whilst admiring the view of the Sidlaw Hill and our horses Caramel, Cailin and Rose!, take the dog for a free run in the surrounding woods, have a game of golf, go horse riding and hike in the Angus Glen. Our guests also love going round historic castles and houses, such as Glamis Castle, The House of Dun and Dunnotar Castle. To relax there is a very comfortable power shower, lots of Body Shops products and warm luxury towels. If you do not feel like cooking there are excellent pubs where you can enjoy a glass of beer near the open fire and also more formal restaurant such as the Castleton House which has 3AA rosettes and is ideal for a romantic dinner.
The Super king bed with its luxury linen will help you have rejuvenating night sleep.

The Central Scotland/Edinburgh region

What makes the area special is that you do not need to drives for mile to get a real feel of the wildness and find yourself admiring red deer, beautiful mountain lochs, wild salmon swimming up rivers. You are also close to city such a Perth and Dundee and of course only 1:30 hour from Edinburgh.
There is also a small airport in Dundee with regular flight to London City.
From Glen Prosen you can enjoy both Perthshire and the Angus region.

Perthshire / Alyth area

There are many historic buildings around the area, Scone Place, the home of the earl of Mansfield, The House of Dunottar Castle near Stoneheaven on a cliff top looking on the North Sea, a stunning location used by Franco Zeffirelli in his film Hamlet.
Fantastic Glen and River walk. Glen Prosen, Glen Doll and Glen Isla are within 20 minutes drive.
There are two golf courses with 10 minutes drive, a great riding centre, quad biking trek as well as Estates offering Deer Stalking, fishing and shootings.
We have a special arrangement with one of Dundee best Hair and Beauty Salon and can make appointment for you before your arrival.

We will always be there to welcome you on your arrival and will be able to help you design the best itinerary, advice on local activities and local interesting shops.
There will be fresh milk in the fridge with local pastries, fresh flowers and eggs from the hen next door (if they feel in a good mood)!
There are another three cottages within the ground so in total we can accommodate 12 guests if using our other 3 Cottages. Glen Doll 2 guests (1 double room). Glen Isla 4 guests, (one twin and one double, two bathrooms), Glen Clova 4 guests (one twin and one double) so this is the ideal place for a family/friends reunion.

Conditions

We require a 25% deposit to secure your booking and full payment 8 weeks before arrival.
The 25% deposit is non refundable.
We love dogs and they are particularly welcome, however they will need to be kept out of the bedrooms and should not be allowed on the sofas etc....we would charge for extra cleaning should it be required.
The Cottages are non smoking.
We offer four hours of cleaning for our guests who are staying more than a week
