Home description
Newly completed in 2008 this luxurious self-catering holiday apartment forms the north wing of the owners’ 18th century farmhouse. The apartment has been designed to achieve a high standard of comfort for our guests. The accommodation comprises a large double bedroom with en suite on the first floor and on the ground floor a twin bedroom with its own shower room. There is also a large lounge / dining room with a fully equipped kitchen.
The apartment and house are located in beautiful countryside near the southern edge of the Cairngorm National Park on the banks of the River Isla and stand in more than an acre of gardens. One kilometre down the river there is a spectacular waterfall known as Reekie Linn. There are lovely views from the house in every direction. The owners take great pride in their gardens and guests are welcome to enjoy every part of them. This is a place of great tranquility and beauty in every season of the year. The roads here are very quiet while the hills and forests offer many interesting and sometimes challenging walks.

The Central Scotland/Edinburgh region
Broomhall is situated in Glenisla on the border between the counties of Perthshire and Angus at the very edge of the Scottish Highlands. As such it offers a perfect base for exploring both Central Scotland and the Southern Highlands.
Southwards, a 20-minute drive takes the visitor to the historic Glamis Castle. In the surrounding countryside there are many fascinating Pictish monuments dating from the early centuries of Scottish civilisation, while the nearby east coast of Scotland is known for its picturesque fishing villages. South of the River Tay is the mediaeval walled city of St Andrews with its great ruined cathedral, ancient university, world-renowned golf courses and lovely beaches.
The cultural facilities of Perth and Dundee are less than an hour away, while Edinburgh can also easily be visited in a day.
Perthshire / Blairgowrie area
Northwards, many of the Scottish ‘Munros’, mountains more than 3000 feet (915m) in altitude, are within an hour's drive. Because of their high latitude and climatic variability they offer a wilderness experience to suit all tastes and levels of ability, from the casual hill walker to the skilled climber. The rugged beauty and solitude of the mountains, lochs and glens, seen under constantly varying light conditions from dawn to sunset, in some cases with the sea as a backdrop, provide the visitor with unforgettable memories.
For the cyclist there are many opportunities in this area for cycling on quiet roads or, away from it all, on forest and mountain trails. There are also many facilities for other sports including loch, river and sea fishing, pony trekking and golf. The East of Scotland is renowned for its fine golf courses, especially the championship links courses at St Andrews and Carnoustie.
Those seeking a less active holiday focused upon the experience of peace and tranquility coupled with visits to gardens, historic buildings and the enjoyment of Scottish culture (including opportunities for whisky tasting) will find a holiday at Broomhall to be a perfect and relaxing choice. Several good restaurants are situated close at hand. We also offer a generous welcome pack and there is the possibility (by prior arrangement) of having a full dinner cooked for you on your arrival and on the evening before you depart.
