The Central Scotland/Edinburgh region

At the heart of the Central/Edinburgh is Scotland's beautfiul and inspiring capital , Edinburgh. The " Fair City of Perth " is situated some 16 miles South of Blairgowrie, on the A93. This popular route leads to the glories of Royal Deeside and Balmoral [ 33 miles ] . Many periods of Scottish history are represented in the locality, from the Romans, and Picts to the Crowning of Scottish Kings, at Scone Palace, within 15 minutes drive. The rolling arable countryside around Blairgowrie has allowed the cultivation of superb soft fruits and the development of farm shops, selling a range of local produce.
Blairgowrie is also at the foothills of the heather clad Grampian mountains and the ski resort of Glenshee is readily accessible from the apartment.

Perthshire area

This riverside location provides an excellent touring base for golfers, walkers, anglers and country sports people in the beautiful Perthshire countryside.
The championship golf courses of Rosemount [ Blairgowrie] , Gleneagles or
St Andrews [ approximately 45 minutes drive from the apartment ] provide challenges for the golfer, whilst the local area is abundant with excellent courses. For the culturally minded, the 5 star Scone Palace is within 15 minutes drive, whilst 5 star Blair Castle and Glamis Castle are just a little further afield. The award winning Famous Grouse Experience and Bells Blair Athol distillery are also within 30 minutes drive.

Good restaurants are to be found in and around Blairgowrie, and within a couple of minutes walking distance, the brunches at " Cargills " provide excellent value. The River Ericht tumbles by, once the home of over 16 textile mills, of which there is now little evidence.

Perthshire is also famed for its salmon and trout fishing. For lovers of Antiques, there is the excellent Scottish Antiques Centre at Abernyte within 20 minutes drive, and Roy Sim Antiques within a 10 minute walk.

The " Big Screen " can be enjoyed at Dundee [ UGC ] or Perth and theatre at nearby Pitlochry, Perth or Dundee. Perth Concert Hall and the Caird Hall Dundee also play host to impressive musicians and artists, many of national stature and fame.

For shopping, there are a number of smaller " high street " shops in Blairgowrie and also excellent quality family business butcher and fishmonger. Blairgowrie is also served by small supermarkets, and nearby Perth and Dundee provide many " High Street " names. For field sporting supplies, there are two shops in Blairgowrie, and for an excellent range of luxury goods, the " House of Bruar " , North of Pitlochry is not to be missed. The scenery between Blairgowrie and Dunkeld offers some of Perthsire's finest views, with small
picturesque lochs, including the Loch of the Lowes, home to rare Ospreys.
