The Chapel House is situated 9 miles west of Perth and 5 miles from Auchterarder and the Gleneagles Hotel. Set in 180 acres of beautiful parkland, the historic chapel at Duncrub Park is the focal point of a hamlet of dwellings. A stained glass kitchen window is only one of the retained features in this combination of old and new, creating a really unusual, extremely comfortable holiday home.
Walk to the conservation village of Dunning nearby for good food pub, shops and historic Norman tower of St Serfs. A golfer’s paradise, excellent walks, stunning gardens, castles and attractions to visit, make this is a memorable holiday destination. Perthshire / Dunning area
Visit the magnificent highland Perthshire Blair Castle, home to the Dukes of Atholl, not to mention the nearby centre of excellence for Scottish produce at House of Bruar. Walk at Bruar Falls, visit the nearby highland town of Pitlochry with its famous fish ladder and Festival Theatre and shops selling quality Scottish tartans and crafts. Wonder at the underwater archaeology (still on-going) that’s produced the replica stone-age settlement and visitor centre, The Crannog with nearby Kenmore and Aberfeldy. Travel by the Sma’ Glen to Crieff, a typical highland town with the nearby distillery the Famous Grouse Experience. The glorious gardens in this area are known worldwide by planstmen - at their best in May or June, but well worth a visit at any time of year, such as Branklyn, Kellie and Drummond Castles.
Scone Palace is close to Perth and the fairy-tale Glamis Castle, birthplace of the Queen Mother, is in Angus. Falkland Palace, Kellie Castle and others await your visit. If family history is your passion, there’s ample opportunity to research your roots via the Tay Valley Family History Society and other centres.
How to get there
Conveniently located just off the A9 between Stirling and Perth, Duncrub Holidays enjoys a tranquil location in beautiful Strathearn with Craig Rossie, the highest hill on the eastern end of the Ochils in the background.
This rural setting can be reached by car from Edinburgh and Glasgow airports in 45 and 65 minutes respectively and from Gleneagles and Perth railway stations in less than 15 minutes.

Further details indoors: Bedrooms may be made up as singles or doubles (zip and link). The downstairs en suite bedroom is perfect for those who do not wish to climb stairs. The upstairs bedroom has a bathroom just opposite. The kitchen(the only one we know with a stained glass window), entrance hall and dining room are all tiled (mostly in 19th century tiles). We do welcome dogs here and the garden is fenced but not described as dog proof. There is excellent walking from the door of the house.
Further details outdoors: Double doors lead from the dining room to a patio area and large garden, At the end of the day, unwind with a game of table tennis or badminton in the knave of the chapel. Walk to the local village (10 minutes) to enjoy a meal in the local pub. 9-hole golf course at Dunning as well as children's play park and tennis courts. There are 41 golf course in Perthshire to choose from ! The Gleneagles Hotel Courses are a 10-minute drive.
Take a stroll into the village do do some essential shopping and have a bite to eat in the local Pub - there's a nice circuit walk that will take around 45 minutes.
