The Western Australia / Perth Metro Area
Perth is the capital city of Western Australia and is the venue for many cultural, sporting and community events through out the year. Many of these events are free, allowing visitors to enjoy the best Perth has to offer. Its superb position on the banks of the Swan River and nearby hectares of natural bushland in Kings Park make for a city centred on the great outdoors.
Some of the most beautiful beaches in Western Australia are a mere twenty minutes drive away at Cottesloe and Scarborough beach. Alternatively the Swan Valley only a twenty minute drive away is where you will find a multitude of boutique wineries, breweries, a cheese and chocolate factory can also be found to tempt your taste buds.
Western Australia also hosts one of the world's greatest white water events, the Multiplex Avon Descent. It is a unique challenge to paddlers and power dinghy racers: • The only event in the world where power craft race paddle craft • An exhilarating two-day time trial; • Grade 2-4 white water rapids; • 133 gruelling kilometres will test the endurance of the fittest athlete.

Burswood casino and their scenic 18 hole golf course is only a 5 min drive away as is the Perth Zoo which is home to 1,500 animals representing 200 species. The Perth CBD features a good line up of bars and restaurants, particulary at its West end. Here you'll find funky cafes, swanky bars, character beer houses and intimate restaurants.
The Swan River also provides for action lovers, with water sports available right in the heart of the city. Try Ski-biscuiting, windsurfing, jet skiing or parasailing to really get the adrenaline pumping. Such activities are especially glorious in the city, with the shining brilliance of towering buildings set as a stunning backdrop to the dazzling waters of the Swan.
How to get there
The home is located a short twenty minute taxi ride from the domestic and international airport. The city is a mere five to ten minutes drive away. The Carlisle Train Station is within walking distance as are various Bus Routes which will take you into the Perth City Bus / Train Depot.
