Parmelia is a thriving southern suburb popular with families and located an easy 35 minute drive down the Kwinana Freeway from Perth city. The recent construction of the Perth to Mandurah railway line is an exciting development in the region and has added to the recent popularity of the region as a whole. Parmelia has established and new housing, semi-rural farmlets and enough nature reserves to please the budding bushwalker. A stone's throw from Rockingham and a 15 minute drive to Fremantle where the experience of fish and chips and a walk down the Esplanade is not to be missed.

The township of Rockingham is about 20 minutes West of Parmelia and has some of the prettiest beaches along the West Coast. Al fresco dining is popular and this once 'sleep holiday and naval town' has recently been transformed into a boardwalk of cafes, restaurants and parks. The dolphins are a special attraction not to be missed.
