Home description
The castle is large enough to accommodate more than one family. Four double bedrooms, two with en-suites and lounging chairs and air-con. are superbly furnished . All beds are recently purchased, top quality and very comfortable.
Described by an interior designer as being a house with the most character she had ever seen, the use of natural limestone, polished granite and antique, European, Baltic pine doors and shutters, contrasts artistically with the Japanese influence throughout .
Once you walk through the stained glass front door you will realise you have made the right choice for a holiday in possibly the best position in Perth.
From Doubleview you don't have to travel any great distance to be in the city, or the beach or golf courses. It's all here for you. You can relax on the upstairs balcony or entertain guests in the hedonistic atmosphere of the downstairs, outdoor area.
The memories of this beautiful house will stay with you forever.

The Western Australia / Perth Metro Area
As the name suggest, Doubleview is noted for its superb views to Rottnest Island and inland. Christine's Castle is one of the highest properties on the hill with a commanding outlook.
Western Australia can become hellishly hot for long periods, with Summer never ending. The Castle is equipped with insulation, air-conditioning top and bottom, and ceiling fans. The idea is to have the fans on early, use the air -con later and as night falls, open the shutters, the French doors and enjoy the evening breezes.
Perth, Perth Metro Area / Doubleview area
Everything you need to enjoy your time in Perth is at your fingertips.A swimming pool is unnecessary as some of the best beaches in the world are so close. The crisp white sand of the metropolitan beaches are never to be forgotten.
Perth's public transport can be sporadic and distances can become onerous. Even though you couldn't get facilities much better than at the Castle, a car is helpful as taxis are expensive and public transport dicey after dark. We have a Mercedes 400 SEL which may be available. Enquire if interested. It's big, economical and reliable.
The Castle's location is amongst its best features. Being very close to everything you can get to tourist spots easily. The finest beaches in Perth - Scarborough, Trigg's Island and Cottesloe are just down the hill and Perth is but a short trip from the bus stop which is at the front door.
Sorrento Quay is a quick drive up the coast - a most scenic jaunt, and the port of Fremantle is equidistant in the other direction.
How to get there
It's approx $50 taxi to Doubleview from the airport. We are happy to pick you up if at all possible.
There is a bus stop at the front door to take you into Perth or to the beach. The bus can also take you to the Stirling railway station from where you can travel to Fremantle, Midland Junction, Mandurah and Joondalup.
Ferries depart from Sorrento and Fremantle for Rottnest Island..
Long distances between destinations make it imperative that you have private transport, be it hire-car ,loan car or a loan car with driver.

Further details indoors: Two family rooms with T.V, lounges, music, etc along with a beautiful up-stairs bathroom with a two-person spa , provide a most relaxing ambience for discerning travellers.
Cooking facilities are paramount, with attention to detail.
Typically Australian, the kitchen is the hub of the house and spacious by any standards. It is thoughtfully appointed and accessible to both indoor and outdoor dining areas and also large enough for breakfast and coffee breaks.
Upstairs and downstairs spa baths are remote controlled.
Further details outdoors: Alfresco relaxation and dining are prioritised. A fabulous outdoor entertainment area has been created with a dining suite and lounge in a convivial area sheltered from the afternoon sun.
The very best quality gas operated, stainless steel barbecue is installed, complete with oven hood and Wok burner.
A Juliette balcony opens off the lounging area of the main upstairs bedroom -- most romantic. On the top floor is a balcony to catch the sea breezes and enjoy the views to Rottnest. There is a secure, two car garage .
Restaurants, supermarkets, golf courses etc are at your fingertips and we enjoy a steak at the Herdsman Hotel on tight-arse Tuesday or barbecuing yourself the best fillet steak at The Albion in Cottesloe. There's a beaut Chinese down the hill called Fortuna and a recommended foodhall in Wembley.
Picnic places are plentiful but our favourites are the foreshore at Matilda Bay in Nedlands, and Scarborough and Trigg's beaches. A drive down the free way to Jarrahdale's Millwood Winery is great because it's like being at Margaret River without the distance.
